Two is trapped: hooked on heroin, held as property, forced to sell her body to feed the addiction. Time brings her ever closer to what seems an inevitable death and Two waits, uncaring, longing only for the next fix.
That’s when Theroen arrives, beckoning to his Ferrari and grinning his inscrutable grin. He is handsome. Confident. Eager to help lift her out of the life that’s grinding her down.
The only problem? Theroen is a vampire.
His blood can cure her addiction, grant her powers she has never had, change her forever into something greater than she was. But when he sinks his teeth into her neck, Theroen also thrusts Two into a world of danger, violence, madness and despair. The powerful, twisted elder Abraham will use her arrival to shatter the uneasy peace that exists in his mansion, bringing an end to the dark game he has been playing for centuries.

I'm not a big fan of vampire fiction, but I have been downloading free books for my kindle and this sounded interesting. Suprisingly I really enjoyed it!! Have just come back from a weekend away and started it on the journey down and finished it yesterday, it is a pacy read and is an easy and enjoyable book. My advice is get it while it is still free. Would be happy to read more by the author.

Well trodden theme about vampires given a slightly different take.

I would probably give this 3.5 stars if that was possible. It was an OK read, but like some others I found myself getting a bit bored with the slow pace in the middle. The heroine Two (such a weird choice of name) becomes a vampire, but does not have any particular skills as one. Her choice of violence near the end seems unlikely to succeed, and as this is only part one of a trilogy we don't know whether she may have a happy ending.
I didn't quite follow what Abraham had done wrong when trying to "make" his progeny, only one of whom turned out to be OK.

Interesting story and some good accounts of what it's like to be a vampire!

Interesting story and some good accounts of what it's like to be a vampire!
Haven't read all of it, but I can see that there is potential for some interesting conclusions. The characters are believable and the main vampire is scary, which is always good!
Set in modern times, but the theme of vampires is ageless, so can be adapted here.
I look forward to finishing it.
Recommended.
Finished the book and it was a great read. It took me a little more time to get into the characters and plot after my first review, but this didn't take long.
One of the other reviewers gave this 3/5 and said it lacked depth and while this is true, there are 2 more in the trilogy and it would be great if the depth could be achieved there. While I did crave for some more background into the main characters, the author is great at capturing the present and he writing style is very addictive and I found myself up late reading till I feel asleep and then when it all finished I wanted to read the other two.

A solid start to what promises to be a great trilogy...

I downloaded this for my kindle last year as it was free and then forgot about it, I suppose the fact that it currently still free to download twelve months later [and the appealing cover] lead me to believe that it wouldn't be up to much.
I'm happy to report that I was wrong.
***
The story focuses on Two; a young, drug addicted prostitute. One night she goes of with a client, only to be bitten and taken away to a secluded mansion.
Vampire Theroen senses the goodness hidden in Two and wants to cure her addiction by transforming her into a vampire, thus keeping her with him.
But the lovebirds can't run off into the sunset too easily. Theroen's powerful vampiric father Abraham has three 'children' and Thereon is the only one that completed the transition to vampire without Abraham's strong powers causing nasty side effects. This means that although Abraham hates Thereon, he isn't about to let his only 'normal' child leave him...
***
I'm not sure how to describe THE BLOOD THAT BONDS; we have drama, horror, romance and action mixed into one. I laughed at parts and cried more then once too, the plot has a bit of everything.
And allow me to repeat that it's free to own - what excuse is there for not giving this a go? I'll be treating myself to book 2 ] ASAP.

Authors always seem to have a different take on vampires and legends. This one was no exception so I had to remember what the specifics were of these vampires and not expect them to behave and have the tricks of others I've read about. Abraham meets an unusual end for a vampire.
The story itself is good with sufficient mix of gore and humour. The description of the book does it justice although despite the apparent viciousness of Abraham, the writing made me think more of him as a bullying uncle than a terrible vampire such as Vlad. I liked the conclusion tagged on at the end. A bit sugar coated but a better after taste than the violence of the main action. It brought closure to a number of the characters in more ways than one.
I've read better and more substantial vampire stories that made me think. Read this one if you are not a vampire expert and just want to escape for a while with an entertaining, occasionally humorous story, with a good body count. I'm tempted to read others in the trilogy.
