After hoping that things would pick up speed and that something amazing would happen in the second volume, I was severely disappointed. The book stayed at the same slow pace as the first volume where basically nothing has happened. I really want to keep reading because I feel like this series has amazing potential but I'm not sure if I will just be wasting my money buying the next installment. This volume (similarly to the first) just feels like an issue rather than a volume. Again the art work was amazing and there are great parts of the story but I'm not sure if its enough to keep me reading, we shall see.
Elly arrives at her new workplace in the middle of the night during a power outage. First priority: making a good impression on her new boss, Dr. Vlad Stein. This is far more difficult than expected. Stein is a sleepwalking, perpetually confused narcoleptic who mutters to himself and interprets social graces as mere recommendations for those who have nothing better to do. In other words: Elly is no trapped in a dark place with a ... slightly ... creepy person and her fears keep getting the better of her when trying to show off her professionalism. But since she and her family need the money from this job, there is no turning back now. If her new boss would just stop waving sharp implements around...
The story is not overly complex, but art and characters are great and the book is very funny. The second first meeting on the stairs had me burst into laughter.
Gran continuacion al primer volumen, la historia creada por Linda Sejic es muy interesante y entretenida, un respiro de aire fresco de los comics tradicionales, con una historia de pocos personajes y como se desarrollan sus vidas, bastante divertida.
