It doesn't have the unbelievable highlights of Among The Dead (Title Track, Tornado Of Sickness, The Last Survivor) in my humble opinion but the sound is very similar to Among The Dead, the approach is similar and the consistency from song to song is arguably even better. ... for me, Among The Dead just had a GREAT theme with the Zombie thing (not that it is a great them on it's own but it really fit that album and sound.) ... this one is using the IT theme which is a movie I have not seen but I am going to check it out soon. I'm not sure if this whole album is based on IT or just some of it or just the title track. Regardless ... you cannot go wrong with this album at all.
If you are looking for a more atmospheric Iron Fire in the Voyage Of The Damned mold, this is not it. This is very, very much similar recorded in the vein of Among The Dead. This is neither bad nor good, but a preference. I don't know that this release is as good as Voyage or Among ... but, it is definitely in the ballpark which is saying a LOT.
Very solid product here. It's a grower, but you'll rarely find a more consistent, more honest effort than this. It won't likely be my album of the year but it almost certainly will age well. This album is not about short cuts.
