I was four when I decided I would be a writer, packed a bag, and marched down the road looking for a school. But for forty-six years, I suffered from life-gets-in-the-way-osis. Setting a goal to write just one page a day cured me in 2010. This discipline grew into an addictive habit that has since borne several novels, and dozens of short stories and novellas--many of which are published award-winners in Australia, the US and the UK. My childhood reading diet consisted of Edgar Allen Poe, O'Henry, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents, plus horror comics like Tales From the Crypt. Anything out of this world like The Twilight Zone and Outer Limits had me glued to the television. Inspired by these classics, I attempt to pen tales that are simply about the story and the characters and not about fancy words or beautiful descriptions. At the end of my stories I hope, wonderful reader, that you will feel you've enjoyed a journey into the fantastic with a neat twist at the end.

I read this as a short story in Behind Dark Doors and was intrigued by the story so when it came out as a book, I just had to read it. The fact that it’s also written by one of my favorite new authors, Susan May, who has become a friend through her Facebook page made it even more of an imperative. As always she never disappoints and takes something that you think of all the time and twists it, “what if?” What if you end up getting what you want at someone else’s expense? Would you?
Dawn is a woman repressed by "slips" she cannot resolve - lapses in time she cannot account for, scattered dreams that feel like memories, a blur between reality and something that her family and therapist say did not happen. Dawn's husband questions her "slips" as infidelity, causing her to divorce. A single mother with her beloved son Tommy, her sister and mother never want to leave her alone. But Dawn is determined to heal through meditation and trying to live stress-free. When 10 year old Tommy notices that his mom is "acting like an alien", Dawn fears that she can't hide anymore and must figure herself out. Tommy's death by a distracted driver causes Dawn's "slips" to become regular, exactly the same, and possibly able to manipulate and bring Tommy back. Going back again is a look at time travel, the power of love, and going back to believing the best of yourself. While the sadness in the story drags on at first, it allows the reader to feel the full force of emotion that empowers Dawn as a mother.
Amazing book! Couldn't stop reading! Only complaint i have is that so much effort was taken to tell the story in detail from the main character's viewpoint, but the ending was told from a different character's POV, and I desperately wanted to know what the main character was thinking when things came to fruition!! Truly and thoroughly enjoyed this story, highly recommend!!!

This book was so boring. Honestly, when the main characters kept repeating her actions over and over again, I skipped entire chapters of this book. It exhausted me. Such a waste of time.

It is very well written and it really keeps you wanting to read the next chapter as soon as you finished any of them. I also bought the narration together with the Kindle book, and it is very well read. I really liked the story and the way it moves forward. The end is no less amazing.
