Hot on the heels of their adventure with the X-Men, Power Pack returns for another titanic team-up... and this time, it's Earth's Mightiest Heroes leading the charge! Collects Avengers and Power Pack Assemble! #1-4.
A week later, when that terrorist group of scientists - A.I.M. - steals the latest Iron Man prototype, the kids again spring into action (with the incorrigible Jack dreaming of a big reward), but can the ol' shellhead be too far behind? Then we get a sort of epic two-parter as Kang the Conqueror is revealed to be the mastermind behind the Taskmaster and A.I.M. heists. The New Avengers and Power Pack find themselves overpowered, and the Pack is catapulted ten years into a dystopian future.
In this future Kang had succeeded in conquering the world, and the few remaining active superheroes tend to skulk around with worried expressions. Can the Pack and their future selves topple this bleak status quo? And can they safely get back to their own time? As usual, it's terrific seeing POWER PACK teaming up - and being mentored by - the grown-up superheroes. If you look close, the last issue features tons of cameo appearances. The sense of fun in this series is simply infectious. The Power children are adorable even when they're squabbling, their personalities quite distinct from each other. Writer Marc Sumerak and the fantastic art team of GuriHiru come up with another splendid, cheery stretch of stories that'll plant a smile on your face and, more significantly, on your kids' faces.
