Nov 12 Knitting with an Easter theme. If you enjoyed their Christmas knitting book - here's another for your collection. Who would not want an Easter bunny? These Scandinavian designers have become well-known for their take on knitting. Easter eggs. hens and bunnies will keep everyone smiling. * Karen Platt Yarnsandfabrics.co.uk/crafts * Mar 13 Hot off the heels of Knitted Dolls, Arne and his sidekick Carlos are back with another great book to inform and entertain knitters. The easy-to-grasp and quick-to-make projects include Scandinavian-style knitted eggs, chicks, bunnies and rabbits. They make great gifts for kids and adults - if you can bear to part with them, that is! * Knit Today * Issue 55 We're huge fans of Arne and Carlos's quirky designs, so we were thrilled to see their latest book, Easter Knits. It's packed with fabulous colourwork Easter bauble and egg designs, as well as an egg cosy sweater and an adorable Easter bunny, complete with pom-pom tail. Packed with personality, it's a must-buy. * Knitter, The * April 13 This quirky book is a true delight, with a strong Scandinavian theme. That's not surprising because authors Arne and Carlos are Scandinavian, and they write in their preface 'We Scandinavians are peculiar people' referring to their love of the snow and the cold. Easter Knits has a simple narrative running through it, which gives it a childlike charm. The projects themselves are also fairly simple, being mostly variations of Easter eggs and Easter ball decorations with differing patterns inspired by nature, traditional sources and even Faberge eggs. The Easter bunny is a gorgeous character with his pom-pom tail. The hen is also very endearing with crocheted feathers on her wings, not forgetting the cute egg cosy sweaters too. All the projects are beautifully photographed against stylish Scandinavian decor. * Simply Knitting * March 13 Two of Scandinavia's foremost knitting designers are back and having fun with a wonderful collection of springtime knits. Quick and easy to make, the projects are suitable for knitters of all ages and abilities. This collection of little knitted items will make perfect presents or decorate your home. * Machine Knitting Monthly * Feb 13 This is the third book by those knitting Norwegians to be featured on this site. Check out my reviews for 55 Christmas Balls To Knit and Knitted Dolls in the site archives. Now it is the turn of Easter, and here is a book filled with bunnies, chicks, eggs and more balls, this time with a springtime theme. By now you will be expecting a lushly illustrated book and yep, this is what you get. Pages are filled with large colorful photos of the projects plus gorgeous shots of them amongst Easter themed memorabilia from what must be a treasure trove of a house. The bunnies and chicks are shown in various poses modeling their outfits, and I can imagine many children being inspired for all sorts of games looking at this book. It is rare to find a whole book full of Easter projects so this is a very welcome addition to any knitter's library. Aimed at improvers, (this is not a beginner's book or a book on how to knit) the instructions are mostly in written form with a few charts. There are lots of small projects, eggs, balls and outfits - that make up fast and use up often quite small amounts of yarn, a fun way of recycling and being thrifty. If you live outside Norway you will probably find getting hold of the exact yarns mentioned (Dale of Norway) difficult, but any knitter worth their salt ought to be able to find an alternative. One thing I particularly enjoyed was reading about how Norwegians spend Easter, a holiday when snow is still on the ground in many places and just before the onset of spring. I look forward to this duo?s next book. * Myshelf.com * Jan 13 'Easter Knits' by Arne & Carlos is their third book and is a lot of fun. With Easter only weeks away now is the time to start looking for patterns to knit if you want to craft something for family or friends. The basic ball and egg patterns are at the back of the book with the intarsia multi-colour patterns throughout including: six balls, sixteen eggs, one egg cozy, one hen, one bunny and one bunny sweater. The patterns are bursting with bright colour and the pictures are as usual silly and cheerful. Arne & Carlos achieved fame with their books '55 Christmas Balls to Knit' and 'Knitted Dolls with a Designer Wardrobe' which I reviewed in July. A lot of people came round to read it which was nice! I will put a little warning in so you don't get carried away, buy the book and then tear your hair out if you have never been able to master knitting in the round with 4 or 5 needles. All the patterns in this book require this skill so if you have it fine, but if you don't know how to do this be prepared to learn. * sewingisforgirls.blogspot.com *
Arne Nerjordet and Carlos Zachrison, Norwegian and Swedish respectively, established their design company ARNE & CARLOS in 2002. Drawing on traditional Scandinavian influences and the natural environment, they create original and striking knitwear, and work with such prestigious fashion designers as Comme des Garcons. Arne and Carlos' creative base is their eclectic farm in Norway, where they absorb the rich tradition of Scandinavian arts and crafts while exploring their own knitwear inspirations.
Better than an egg for easter but not for beginners2016年3月15日に英国でレビュー済み
Sweet book but agree with other reviews that this is definitely not for beginners as patters are mainly graphs with minimal instructions. My favourite are the eggs. The Easter Bunny is not the best rabbit pattern that I have seen but it is rather charming and I love his little jumper. Bought this for my granny instead of the usual egg!
A good knowledge of working with dpns is necessary to appreciate this book as everything is knit in the round. Casting on 8 stitches on 4 needles for the Easter Bunny was very fiddly and needed a lot of patience but it was nice not to have to sew up the items. The patterns do consist of just what it says in the title. The instructions could have been clearer. It would have helped to have the numbers of stitches that should be on each row and illustrations of some of the techniques used would have been helpful. The book is charmingly presented and has some delightful patterns. I was pleased with how the bunny turned out but would not recommend this for a novice knitter.
Good but not for beginners2012年12月11日に英国でレビュー済み
The book is very colourful and has some lovely patterns. However, it is not for the novice. You will need to be competent knitting on double-pointed needles and knitting together various parts of a piece in order to make the basic bunny. Double-pointed needles are also used for the eggs and balls. There are no/limited instructions on knitting, this is not a manual for learning to use double-pointers.

I really liked the Christmas balls book and expected this book to be equally inspirational so I'm disappointed at the limited range of patterns. Having said that once you've mastered the pattern further invention is possible.
Lovely but has a few mistakes2013年1月29日に英国でレビュー済み
I have started knitting the rabbit and I am afraid it looks like there are a few counting mistakes in the pattern. Has anyone noticed or am I the only one?
Otherwise, the baubles are super cute and the patterns lots of fun.

Lots of ideas for gifts to knit, but probably not for beginners. Having knitted from "55 Christmas Balls to Knit: Colourful Festive Ornaments " also by Arne and Carlos helped to get started with the patterns in this book. Knitting with 5 double ended knitting pins not so difficult as you imagine once you get started. I managed to obtain Dalegarn Falk Wool, as mentioned in the book, from internet supplier.
Loving the new Easter book. I'm not a great knitter but can follow these patterns easily and produce some wonderful easter things. Thank you for such great ideas and patterns

The boys should have stuck with the Christmas baubles. This book feels as if it has been rushed out to keep their profile up. Sorry, not my cup of tea!
