A bit too weird for me2021年3月15日にアメリカ合衆国でレビュー済み
Reading the other reviews, I gather this is a cyberpunk story - a new genre for me. There's only 3 main characters, one of whom gets bumped off. Most of the action takes place in telespace where an AI is trying to access a 'fragment' of a human metaprogram - an archetype which manifests as a chimera - in order to experience Transcendence - whatever that all means. I found it all a bit baffling and ended up skipping large chunks of the woo-woo stuff. The future world in which the action took place was a mass of corruption, danger, wholesale trampling of individual rights and laws, where only the rich and talented could survive well. None of the characters were particularly likeable, however the A1 at least stuck to its oath "to serve humanity"- the other 2 characters quickly sacrificed any morals or ethics they possessed. I can appreciate why other reviews raved about this - it is highly imaginative but I prefer my sci fi are little more down-to-earth (scuse the pun).
