Anglesey has well over 100 Ancient and historic monuments and if you are looking for a guide to all of them you will need to look elsewhere. However if you want an introduction guide to some of the major ones then this is one for you.
The book is conveniently divided into three separate tours which can be undertaken by car. Each will take perhaps an afternoon, though many enthusiasts would be happy to take longer. The information, maps and photographs about each site really added to our enjoyment and helped us to get the most out of what we were seeing.
Be warned. Not all the sites are easy to find even with the information provided. Signage is kept to a minimum so as the book advises, proficiency with OS maps will help. Some of the more worthwhile sites need to be visited in daylight hours of you could find yourself walking through steep woodland along a path that has become invisible in waning light. A torch will add to your enjoyment too.
I find it a little surprising that this book has not been revised since 2001. However, don't let this put you off - the information is not out of date and is more than sufficient for the casual explorer.
Note that Beaumaris Castle, a site you are likely to want to visit is only mentioned in passing in this book.It merits more information than this guide could provide and for full information you will need to buy the separate handbook which Cadw sell.

Dors what it says on the tin2015年7月20日に英国でレビュー済み
This is limited to ancient monuments and in this respect it is factual and interesting. Includes reference to monuments elsewhere as well in places. Not an exciting read but does what it says on the tin.
