`Fantastic Mr Fox' is a delightful stop animation film based upon the Roald Dahl book of the same name. The first half of the film remains relatively faithful to the original storyline (with the addition of a few new characters) but the second half takes it in a slightly different, but no less satisfying direction. Essentially Mr Fox steals various farm produce from three unsavoury farmers who then go out of their way to hunt him and his family down to kill them. Mr Fox is as cunning as a....well a fox, and he finds various ways to outsmart the farmers and amuse us in the process. This has numerous animation touches that made me laugh out loud and made this an especially enjoyable film and the overall animation is excellent throughout. The voice cast is very impressive and well matched to their respective characters and the direction was truly superb. The soundtrack which pretty good as well. I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would and after hearing some disappointing things about this film (generally from fans of the book) I was pleasantly surprised with the high calibre of film making on offer. The best way to gain the most enjoyment from this film is to view it as a separate entity to the book and if you do this you will be in for one wonderful, humorous and spell binding film experience.

I feel that this film is ideal for kids but may not be what you'd like them to see. The characters are quite big-headed and could soon get on a grown-up's nerves-but will probably be loved by your kids.
I bought this film to watch with my tutor group. We had just finished reading the book and we always watch the film afterwards. They loved it, they are vertical which means they range from 11-19 (boys and girls) and they all thought it was funny.
The are a couple of jokes that they just didn't get, but me and my co-tutor had a giggle over. They didn't mind. George Clooney's dry manner added to this. They did enjoy it, but in comparison to the book it is quite different.
If you are buying it to give some little people an early injection of the legend that is Roald Dahl, then get Matilda instead. If you are buying it as an adult to watch go for it.

Great family film, something for everyone. My daughter asked for this DVD after reading the book and watching the film at school. She watched it everyday for about a week, and still watches it occasionally now. I think the humour can appeal to all ages, which makes it a great family movie night film.
Brilliant film. I love Wes Anderson films and this one is no let down. Many well known actors lend their voices to this film including George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Willem Defoe and the great Michael Gambon. Very catchy songs including some sang by Jarvis Cocker. Stop motion is one of my favourite forms of animation so this film has everything for me.

What a lovely film. I caught it halfway through by chance on the tv and was so impressed I bought the DVD so I could watch it all. In fact it's such a lovely film I ordered another one and sent it to my Mum.

Great film to watch very funny and good coman sense lessons, can be learnt from, iit I think it should be rated for 12,as the humour is quite dry,and with other induendos,in some bits, but all depending on the person watching it,as they may find it offensive,or even boring, all personal taste So I did like it
