「KADOKAWA ADメディアガイド」によると『ファミ通』読者の男女比は8:2になっており、『ファミ通』読者の大半は女性向けゲームに興味がないと思われるが、ただでさえページ数の少ないここ数年の『ファミ通』で30ページも使って女性向けゲームを特集する必要性を全く感じない。
ちなみに、同「KADOKAWA ADメディアガイド」では『ファミ通』の発行部数は12万部となっているが、これは印刷証明のない「自称」に過ぎず、実際の発行部数は半分以下で、さらに返本率(2022年8月実績で週刊誌は43.3%)を考えると実売は3.5万部程度、その2割の7,000人程度が女性なので、今号がどれだけ狭いターゲットに向けた号であるかということが理解されると思う。
