Dieselpunk amazingness.
This seems to be a collection of the illustration work by Shigeru Komatsuzaki for Kikaika magazine during WW2. Komatsuzaki was one of the most prolific and influential speculative fiction illustrators of the mid-twentieth century in Japan, whose creativity inspired a lot of the look of science fiction of the second half of the 20th century in Japan. He was behind of the look of super vehicles seen in anime and shows like the Thunderbirds.
Kikaika seem to have been equivalent to a Popular Mechanics type of magazine, with speculative elements about possible kinds of ships, tanks, planes, etc.
I think the best comparison from what I can understand is to Ralph McQuarrie who was very influential in the look of a lot of major Western sci-fi movies, but for earlier Japanese sci-fi. It is mostly super vehicles, none of the giant robot stuff that Komatsuzaki seems to have done more in the later part of his career.
