初めて見たのは2～3年前、スカパープレミアムにて。それぞれ道を極めた、2大俳優の共演はとても素晴らしく、何度見ても感動する作品です。

Ich zähle viele Amerikaner zu meinen Freunden und Bekannten und bin auf diesen Film aufmerksam geworden, weil in Gesprächen mit diesen immer mal wieder der Ausdruck "bucket list" fiel. Nachdem ich erkannt hatte, dass es sogar einen Film mit diesem Titel gibt (engl. Originalversion), von dem der Ausdruck wahrscheinlich abgeleitet ist, hat mich das neugierig gemacht. Gekauft habe ich ihn dann aufgrund einer ausdrücklichen Empfehlung, und ich habe es nicht bereut.

Die Handlung ist - wie könnte es anders sein - auf typisch amerikanische Art dargestellt, und sie erscheint einem normalen Sterblichen zumindest stellenweise nicht ganz realistisch. Wer hat schon gerade zufällig einen Millionär an seiner Seite, mit dessen Unterstützung man seine Träume verwirklichen und die halbe Welt bereisen kann? ... Aber der Film macht dennoch nachdenklich, und am Ende stellt sich die Frage, auf was es im Leben eigentlich ankommt.

Ich bin jetzt in einem Alter, in dem die Einschläge langsam näher kommen, wie man so sagt, und da ist es ganz besonders wichtig, dass jeder für sich selbst herausfindet, wie er die restlichen Jahre seines Lebens gestalten möchte - und ob es sich lohnt, auf die Rente oder bessere Zeiten zu warten (weil die Kinder noch nicht aus dem Haus sind, weil das Eigenheim noch nicht abbezahlt ist, oder wie auch immer die Hinderungsgründe aussehen mögen) und was es eigentlich bringt, sich über unwichtige Kleinigkeiten oder andere Leute aufzuregen und sich durch die Steine, die einem das Leben in den Weg legt, von seinem Ziel abbringen zu lassen. Es gibt Dinge, die das Leben uns nur einmal bietet und die man nicht zurück bekommt: Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen gehören dazu - aber auch verpasste Chancen.

Die Schauspieler Morgan Freemann und Jack Nicholson sind für diesen Film die ideale Besetzung, und sie haben aus ihren Rollen absolut das Beste gemacht. Von mir gibt es deshalb eine klare Empfehlung.
