According to Cayce these events took place around 10,500 BC which is a long time ago for trying to figure out what really happened based just on archeological evidence.
Edgar Cayce himself in the form of the Atlantean priest Ra Ta is a central figure in the story. It is my understanding that Cayce was the reincarnation of the Egyptian god Osiris and Ra Ta had a god like role in all of this. In fact without Ra Ta the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, and the many other mysterious monuments and temples in Egypt may not even exist today.
Cayce's statements about Atlantis and ancient Egypt answer many questions but they raise so many more. There are many, many details which Cayce never elaborated on. In some cases Cayce stated that it was not even possible to explain certain things using verbal language.
Readers who like this type of information will probably also like the following longer book:

Definitely worth reading as it also helps to understand how and why the true pyramids were built in the first place.
The author first presents the readings' account of the migration then the later years when the Pyramids and Sphinx where constructed. The story of the people and their society in RA TA's Temple of Sacrifice & the Temple of Beautiful is fascinating but you must keep an open mind. I like that the traditional view of Egyptologists and Archeologists is given as well. It allows you to make up your own mind or at least start to wonder who is correct. According to Cayce, the Sphinx acted as the Temple of Initiation but was also meant to guard the Hall of records which holds the history of Atlantis and all of mankind. The Pyramid housed two Temples meant for purification, healing and education. Cayce said Ra Ta managed to live a very long life due to the rejuvenating effects of the Temple Beautiful and the aetheric energy of the Great Pyramid. That's just a hint at some of the interesting info in this book. I recommend it along with " Intimate Forever" by Jess Stern and "Many Happy Returns, past life memories of Edgar Cayce" by WH Church.
