It's already prepared for you, you just sprinkle in stuff to give it a little salty "kelpy" (mild) taste. I don't eat rice (keto) so I sprinkle it on vegs and fish to give them that extra mystery taste, put it in suimono soup and wakame soup and things. It's just that extra deliciousness thing. I'm always looking for "new" (to me at least) tastes to add to my cooking flare and this was a very easy, accessible one.
