- The quality of the shave is excellent (I shave in the shower with the water running)
- The length of the battery life is also very impressive. (I'm frequently away for 2-3 weeks, and I do not need to bring a charger with me).
- The ease of cleaning is also excellent; I simply open the heads and run the shower on them for a few seconds, cleaning everything, after I'm finished shaving.
Now the bad.
- After about 10 months, the on/off button began to stick for me. Finally it got to the point where I was not able to turn the shaver on or off at all. Philips quickly sent me out a new shaver as it was under warranty, so good service. However, now about 11 months later, the exact same problem is occurring with the replacement I was sent. The on/off button is starting to stick/fail to function. For the exact same problem to happen twice with different models tells me there has got to be some kind of manufacturing problem with the device. I don't see too many other reviewers complaining about this problem (which surprises me), so perhaps it has something to do with the water where I am (slightly high in calcium), or the fact I shave in the shower. (Note the instructions clearly do say you can use it in the shower and the shaver is supposed to be waterproof).
Despite the high quality shave, and the good service, manufacturing defects mean I cannot recommend this product and I would not buy it again.

This is the site where you are supposed to buy it:
And here it still says $64:
I have only used it dry, and the shave is not as close as a blade - thankfully! Blades give me ingrown hairs if I use them regularly, so one reason I use an electric is to NOT shave so close to get ingrowns. I could use this wet, and I may eventually, and I suspect it would shave very close to blade closeness then - but I use a real blade anyway for "date night" with my wife, when I really need to be smooooooth!
Update after several months... The pop-up trimmer is pretty pathetic, very narrow, and difficult to get to grab the hair you're cutting - it takes as long to trim my sideburns as it does to shave! Also, I am feeling skin irritation a little more than I did with my old, loud, foil shaver. But I still love how quiet it is, and it still does the job.
Update after two years... Well, I can no longer recommend this product. I went shopping for a replacement head, and the price was astronomical for the original equipment kind - almost as much as the shaver cost! The new variety of replacement head is widely reviewed as inferior, but more modestly priced. I said forget it and bought a new Braun, after checking on the availability of replacement parts! So I just reduced the start from 5 to 2. I've never done that before, but you need to know.
