Please use on a hard, flat surface.
Diatomaceous earth is a natural material. It will have a characteristic smell and fine powder, which will be present when you open the package. These are not indicators of any issue with the quality of the product.
If you are concerned about the bath mat being powdery when you open the cardboard box, wipe it with a cloth that has been pulled tight before using.
For periodic maintenance, wash with a sponge or a soft cloth and warm or cold water. The mat will dry quickly if you stand it up against a wall.
If the absorbency has decreased, lightly sand the bath mat with the included sandpaper or another appropriate item to restore it.
The bonding material is made with vegetable fibers. As a result, it may have rough deposits and/or black spots contained within its surface.This can occur during the manufacturing process. It does not indicate that the product is defective or dirty.
