ひとつだけ残念なのは、ビニールとセロテープで完璧に包装してあったお陰で、ビニールを剥がす(開封する)のにかなりてこづった事です。

早く封を開けて聴きたいのに、どこから開ければ良いのかわからず手惑いました。ハサミやカッターを差し込む隙間も無くて。

全く同じ様に包装して、それを開封してみて下さい。開けるのがどれだけ大変かがよくわかると思います。残念なのはそれだけです。

色んなタイプの楽曲でスラッシュがギターを弾いていますので、こういう曲ではこういうギターを弾くのだなフムフム。といった楽しみ方が個人的にはオススメです。

これぞスラッシュ！というギターフレーズだらけでニヤニヤしちゃいます。
オジーやレミーやイギーなどの生きるレジェンドたちの曲が熱いです！
特にレミーの曲は疾走感があってドライブなどにも最適のカッコよさです。
ミドルテンポのオジーの曲も良くて「ノー・モア・ティアーズ」あたりを思わせる。
ウルフマザーやアヴェンジド・セブンフォールドなど新鋭もきっちり採用するなど
懐の深さもうかがえる。ファーギーやマルーン５のアダムなども意外なカッコよさ。
ダフのベースとデイヴ・グロールのドラムでのインスト曲もシビれます。

とにかく１曲ごとに違うボーカリストとのコラボが楽しめて全く飽きません。
唯一２曲収録されているマイルス・ケネディという人は今後のツアーに
ボーカリストとして参加するみたいでお披露目の意味も込めて急遽２曲にしたとか。

※ちなみにこの曲目リスト間違ってますね。４曲目が抜けてます。本当の（４）は
バックフロムキャリfeat.マイルス・ケネディ / Back From Cali (Myles Kennedy)です。
ファーギーとクリス・コーネルの間に入ります。収録曲も１４曲しか書かれてませんが
本当は（４）が入って全部で１５曲収録されていますよ。

Disc 1はオリジナルとまったく同じ内容です。
しかしDisc 2にはアリス・クーパーと組んだ「Baby Can't Drive」や
SAHARAのシングルの「Paradise City」など
Disc 1に入りきらなかった曲やライヴ音源もあり買う価値あります
DVDにはアルバムのメイキング(※前のDVDと同じ内容)
やMVもありおなかいっぱいです　約70分くらい収録されてます

パッケージも豪華で箱みたいになってます

でも来日記念盤だからといってこうやって
色々と豪華にして後出しして買わせようとするのはもうやめてほしいです

あとB'z稲葉が英語詞で歌うSAHARAも入れて欲しかったです

GUNS好きでスラッシュ寄りな人は良いと思いますよ。
メタルオンリーというわけでもなく、モーターヘッドのレミーやイギーポップなどとコラボっておりスラッシュの多彩な才能と恵まれた人間環境に流石と思わされます。
ジャケの絵も描いておりやっぱこの人はアーティストですよね。
バランスが良いです。

First of all , this was a great surprise for me when announced by Slash , after VR took a break two years ago :)
So here is it , plain and simple , yet complex and fresh

Track by track

1.Ghost (Feat. Ian Astbury) - Great starter for such an album with a cool riff opening up and continuing throughout the song!
Izzy Stradlin is playing rhythm on this one :)
Glad he's chosen to work with Slash again officially !

2.Crucify The Dead (Feat. Ozzy Osbourne) - Best song on the album
Why ? Listen to the lyrics carefully ! <semi-spoiler> - because it's towards Slash's past and we all know what happened a few years ago ...
Ozzy means quality in rock music so , why argue anyway :D

3.Beautiful Dangerous (Feat. Fergie)
Great tune with memorable Slash licks
I wonder how would people react to a Black Eyed Peas disbanding cuz of Fergie joining Velvet Revolver ? Hmm :)

4.Back From Cali (Feat. Myles Kennedy) - Myles is a new-comer for my musical knowledge but a pleasant surprise.
Can't wait to see him live this summer on Slash's tour !
The song is a great sing-along , that's for sure.

5.Promise (Feat. Chris Cornell) - One of the greatest riffs / licks to be featured on the album.

6.By The Sword (Feat. Andrew Stockdale) - Great pick for a first single , from what i've read / heard.
Andrew Stockdale is a great singer anyway !

7.Gotten (Feat. Adam Levine) - Maroon 5-ish sound with Slash's lick & solo around :)

8.Doctor Alibi (Feat. Lemmy Kilmeister) - Motorhead trademark !
Great track , enjoyable solo !

9.Watch This (Feat. Dave Grohl/Duff McKagan) - Pure rock n' roll instrumental track , hope they play it live !

10.I Hold On (Feat. Kid Rock) - Wow , another hit on this album , Kid Rock really shines on this one. Great lyrics too !

11.Nothing To Say (Feat. M Shadows) - Another new musical personality for my taste,but again a nice surprise ! Power-track with a metal feel ! Solo and licks are over-the-top !

12.Starlight (Feat. Myles Kennedy) - Totally enjoyable , hard to describe !

13.Saint Is A Sinner Too (Feat. Rocco DeLuca) - 2nd best song on this album ... totally different from the other tunes on the album , which is cool and points out Slash's musical range
Catchy lyrics too !

14.We're All Gonna Die (Feat. Iggy Pop) - Like Iggy said in the Album Trailer - it's rock song !
Headbanging vibe :)

2.Baby Can't Drive (Feat. Alice Cooper & Nicole Scherzinger)
Pleasant surprise by Alice & Nicole, i don't know the story of the song,why it wasn't included on the initial album as well.

3.Paradise City (Feat. Fergie & Cypress Hill) - i was ultra-happy they Slash did this,because it's a really different version compared to the Appetite version !
The "so far away" riff is missing though , but we can live with that , can't we ?
I know certain people will be bashing this comment , but this version is much better than whatever new Gn'R is out performing live this time around :)

I won't make any tops / pros / cons for this, but it's definitely a record to have & to listen to it as many times as possible.
Make no mistake,this is not Appetite or Snakepit , it would be impossible to get to that - it's got a dozen guest vocalists on it :) - but it's totally R'n'f'Roll and a great album !

Slash finally puts out his first solo record. This album hits directly where I thought it would. The general theme of the album is blaring rock and roll, nothing earth shattering . The album sounds like a compilation record. It doesn't really have a direction and doesn't feel like a single unified musical piece. Each song carries the feel from the featured singer's band, which is not entirely a bad thing since it gives some variety. If I had to rate this with Slash's other none Guns work,Id rate it above VR and just below Snakepit.Always liked both Snakepit albums.

Here's a little song by song.

1. Ghost - Good song. Nice opener. Izzy's influence is apparent and appreciated.

2. Crucify The Dead - Ozzy,all that needs to be said

3. Beautiful Dangerous - Good vocals. Though the beginning lick sort of reminds me of Dr Feelgood.

4. Back from Cali - Myles has got lungs. Lucky, since he's going to be fronting Slash's upcoming tour. An anthem, but a good one.

5. Promise - I wasn't sure what Chris Cornell to expect the screeching Soundgarden Cornell or the pansy Scream era Cornell. This isn't screeching. It is in fact quite soulful. However this time Chris is with a great guitarist so this venture into soulful territory works much better than any song on his solo album and it's a decent tune.

6. By The Sword - Embodies the album well. A decent rock n roll song if nothing earth shatteringly awesome.

7. Gotten - It's soft and the Maroon 5 sound is very prominent.

8. Dotor Alibi -It's Lemmy,so it's Motorhead.

9. Watch This - Definitely one of the few stand out solo's of the record.

10. I Hold On - Nice radio friendly stuff with Kid Rock.

11. Nothing to Say - Another anthem like song.

12. Starlight - Myles Kennedy becomes the only singer to appear twice on this record .

13. Saint Is A Sinner Too - Stands out from the rest of the album in just how different it is..

14. We're all Gonna Die - Iggy Pop - More anthem like rock .

Slash is iconic, no one can argue that. Mention a guitar, a top hat and shades and pretty much everyone will know who you are talking about. But, at the end of the day, he is a guitarist who doesn't sing and, unless you're a classical musician who is famous the world over for playing the piano or the violin, releasing a solo album just doesn't sound like a good idea.

Thank God he didn't let it stop him.

So how do you turn a bad idea into a good idea? Simple. You get other icons, both old and new, and you get them to perform with you. The result, in this case, is simply amazing.

This album is filled with surprises galore, and all with Slash's trademark rifts and solos. Now don't get me wrong, not all the tracks are instant classics. But even the mediocre ones are rather good when considering mediocrity. That said, I feel they did take the best of the tracks and release them as singles to promote the album which, I suppose, does make sense. However keeping tracks such as By The Sword and Beautiful Dangerous back would have made an awesome surprise for first time listeners and a stroke of tactical genius for the producers.

And the line-up of artists who sing? Again, simply genius. Where else would you find some of the older icons of rock such as Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath), Lemmy Kilminster (Motorhead) and Iggy Pop on the same album as newer icons such as M Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold), Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge) . . . the list just goes on and on. Ian Astbury (The Cult), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Andrew Stockdale (Wolfmother)as well as fellow G'n'R performers Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler. But, for me at least, the biggest surprise came from the only female performer on the album. The first time I heard Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) singing Beautiful Dangerous I was blown away, absolutely stunning track. This one track alone made this album worthwhile and proves that she is wasted in a R&B group.

If this album isn't a current classic, and I think that it is, it is definitely a future classic. Please, please let's have more from Slash and friends. Let's definitely have more Slash and Fergie. If this album is anything to go by, there would definitely be some good things coming if there were.

Welches Slash Album soll es denn sein?

Es hat bis zum Jahre 2014 gedauert, bis ich auf den Geschmack gekommen bin. Guns'n'Roses sind Kult, aber Geschichte. Der neue Slash lief ab und zu im Radio, wahlweise "Beautiful Dangerous" oder "You're A Lie". Steter Tropfen höhlt den Stein. Irgendwann war es dann da, das Bedürfnis eine Slash CD zu erwerben. Der Mann ist als Gitarrenheld genial. Ich als Nicht-Gitarrist erkenne sein Spiel, wenn ich es höre, das klappt nur bei sehr wenigen Artisten. Als ich denn merkte, dass es sich um zwei verschiedene Alben handelt stellte sich die Frage, welches es denn nun sein soll.
Diese Rezension beschäftigt sich also mit der Kaufentscheidung zwischen "Slash" und "Apocalyptic Love".
Ich habe beide Alben erst einmal online bei diversen Streaming Diensten angehört. Der größte Unterschied liegt bei den Sängern. "Slash" bietet eine breite Vielfalt diverser bekannter Pop, Rock, Hardrock und Heavy-Stimmen.
Auf dem zweiten Album ist nur Myles Kennedy zu hören. Zugegeben, von allen vertretenen Sängern ist Myles der handwerklich Beste. Er hat ein breites Repertoire, kann Pop und Rock, leise und laut, hoch und tief, kraft- und gefühlvoll. Er ist extrem vielseitig. Leider fehlt ihn meiner Meinung nach das gewisse Etwas, das i-Tüpfelchen, die Sahnehaube, das Markante.
Darum beginne ich mit der Kritik zum Album "Slash".
Das Werk ist der Hammer und spontan zu meinem neuen Lieblingsalbum avanciert. Die jeweiligen Sänger bringen Ihre Songs mit und Slash veredelt jeden Titel mit seiner characteristischen Spielweise. Man hört ihn bei jedem Titel klar heraus, ohne dass er sich in den Vordergrund spielt.
Quasi jeder Titel hat Hit-Qualitäten. Die Gaststars sind mit Knüllern statt Füllern am Start. Es klingt als hätten alle ihren kreativen Spass an der Zusammenarbeit mit Slash gehabt. Die Bandbreite ist enorm und mir fällt kein anderes Album ein, dass so breit gefächert und abwechslungsreich ist und dies auf höchstem Niveau. Wem welcher Song am besten gefällt soll jeder selbst entscheiden.
Mein ganz klarer Favorit ist "By the Sword". Auf einer Skala von 1 bis 5 liegt der Song etwa bei 7. Andrew Stokdale gibt sein Allerbestes. Das Arangement, der Gesang und vor allem auch der Gitarrenpart sind "nicht von dieser Welt".
Im Gegensatz dazu ist das zweite Album anders angelegt. Es ist nur die Stimme von Myles Kennedy zu hören. Auch wenn er alle Register seines großen Könnens zieht, ist das Album weniger breit aufgestellt. Dafür ist Slash hier deulicher zuhören und die Gitarre leitet einige Titel. Zum Beispiel beim Opener "Apocalyptic Love" wird sofort klar, dass hier die Gitarre den Ton angibt. Myles klingt daneben bei den ersten Tönen eher wei eine Frau. Auch bei "Anastasia" soll der Mann an der Gitarre besonders virtuos wirken. Das zieht sich durch das ganze Album. Das ein oder andere Mal wäre etwas weniger vielleicht mehr gewesen.
Mein Fazit: Klare Kaufempfehlung für beide Alben. Ich habe dann aber zuerst bei "Slash" aus dem Jahre 2010 zugegriffen.
