The Alpine PDX-V9 is a very small footprint amp that is extremely versatile. I am using this to power my entire car including my subwoofer in the trunk. It has plenty of power and is very clean! There is no hissing which plagued the previous generation of PDX amps. Being a class-D efficient amp, it provides much less strain on your charging system than most other amps would. Also, since this amp is all-in one, you can use just a single power cable instead of linking up splitters..etc that cost extra money.
I priced out Highs amp and a Lows amp. it was a few hundred more plus the space needed for two amps was absurd.
I really like the quick release cable plugs. It makes for an easy removal. I also like the fact the connectors are on one side rather than opposite ends that add to the overall length. I never understood why manufacturers did that?? Another plus is the adjustments are on the opposite side of the connections and are located on th side, not the top. Locating the adjusters on the side is very helpful for underseat mountings like I have.

Mounting options. I suppose with all amps you are limited, but since I installed this underneath my seat it made it a little more difficult. I ended up wedging a carpeted block to hold the amp. Not a huge upset, but I had to list something I didn't like.lol
I have this mounted in my 2016 WRX under the passenger seat. I have an Avic-8000NEX HU, Focal components in the doors and an old school Infinity Kappa Perfect 10" in the trunk in a custom fiberglass enclosure. I have 80 mil butyl, CCF and MLV on all the floor pans and in the trunk. I have 80 mil butyl and CCF on every single other part of the car including roof line. Trunk has all 3 layers. I am using Kickers 4ga wiring kit CK4, Stinger Pro RCA's, and Stinger 9 conductor wire. No sound processor or any other add-on device. Simple set-up with quality components.
Result: Sounds awesome. As good as I ever hoped it would. No need for too much power to overcome outside road noise or interior losses from a poorly insulated vehicle.
I paid $449 from Dealtastic and it came with a 1yr warranty. I see it is now available from other sellers for less with same 1yr warranty. If you buy from Auth reseller, expect to pay a few hundred more. I have not had any problems and this has been installed for 5 months now.
The birth sheet provided said my unit provided 125 watts RMS x 4 and 555 Watts RMS x 1. Definitely nice to get a bit more juice than advertised but keep in mind the numbers are at 14.4v. I’m powering a single CDT-61L-BE component set and one JL 10TW3 sub and it easily gets the volume beyond comfortable all while staying under clipping. The xovers on channels 1/2 and 3/4 allow either full range operation or the ability to bi-amp a set of components without using bulky passive xovers vastly simplifying things.
I really like the plugs for all the power and speaker connections. Definitely makes installation and setup a lot easier although most won’t need to disconnect anything after initial install.
