最初から最後のわっしょいまで一気に聴けました。キャッチーな曲満載。
さくら入門者ですが2010～2014まで揃えた中でも特に良くまとまった感じのこのアルバムが気に入りました。

BABYMETALから入った私は2013年度はCDもDVDも一番後回しでした。
ところがところが。
2013年度はさくら学院として一つの完成形をみた年度でした。
そしてこのアルバムも個人的にはさくら学院ベストとなっています。
①～③までの怒涛の攻め。サンドバッグ状態で打たれ続けます。
そして⑩⑪の至高の名曲。特に⑪は嗚咽で口ずさむことさえも出来ません。
さくら学院を躊躇しておられる方、迷うことなかれ！障子を開けてみよ　外は広いぞ！

子供が中学校の卒業式でさくら学院の歌を合唱するというんで初めて聞いたのがもう4年前、子供は2013年度卒業生と同じ歳で、ひなた、らうら、まりな、ねね、と同じ時代を生きています。さくら学院の子供たちは歌も踊りも決して完成されているとは言えないけど、一つひとつ、全員で一生懸命作り上げていってることが感じられ、歌や思いや全てのことを上級生から下級生に伝えていき最後は後を託して卒業して行くという青春に儚さに胸をうちます。
子供はもうさくら学院から卒業して、少し色っぽい女性のファンをやってますが、おじさんは逆行してバックナンバーを買っていることは子供には内緒です。

発売から随分経ちましたが初回限定盤が手に入って満足してます。
オススメは「Jump Up 〜ちいさな勇気〜」です。曲調が古い訳でもないのに何故か懐かしい雰囲気があり何度聴いても飽きません。
封入されていたカードは水野由結さんでした。

動画サイトでは当初前半しか公開されてなかったhanahanaのMV。後半凄くいいです。可愛さ満点です。
さくら学院を愛してるのは誰だ？クイズも2013年度の活動を振り返る映像とともに楽しくしあがってます。
アルバムは未完成シルエットからJump UPの流れが凄くいいだけに、これで締めてほしかったです。
帰宅部最後のどっきりも楽しいんですけどね。

CDの内容はもちろんですが、ら盤のDVDは、これまでのさくら学院のアルバム収録DVDの中でも最高傑作だと思います。
「成長期限定」ゆえの儚さと、絆の素晴らしさがあふれているDVDだと思います。
何度見ても泣けます！！

Ok, let me take you back 6 months. I was a metal head and have been since I was in my early teens. Metallica, Slipknot, Korn, Machine Head, etc. were the order of the day for me.
Then a friend directed my attention to a Japanese band called Babymetal. Specifically, their 'Gimme Choco!' music video on YouTube. I watched it and I thought it was a parody of the genre, just a joke on those of us who take the metal lifestyle too seriously.
That inevitably led to me hunting down more of their music and then buying their debut self-titled album.
Well to say I am now obsessed with this band would be an understatement of atmospheric proportions.
Then I find out that Babymetal is a side-project or 'club' of the Japanese idol group, Sakura Gakuin. English translation - Cherry Blossom Academy.
The group works like the Japanese school system. When a member of the group graduates or finishes Junior High, they also graduate or leave the group. This means there's always a change in line-up come Spring.
By the time I discovered Sakura Gakuin, Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (2 of the 3 members of Babymetal,) are the two oldest members and will graduate next year. The lead singer of Babymetal, Suzuka Nakamoto or "Su-Metal" graduated from Sakura Gakuin back in March 2013.
Now after that brief explanation and history lesson on the group, let me get onto their music and the reason you should buy this album.
If you discovered Sakura Gakuin through Babymetal as I and countless others no doubt have, be warned that the music between the two groups isn't similar.
Whilst you haven't got the metal and the raw aggression of Babymetal, what you do have is exquisitely crafted pop melodies with some rock thrown in but it's all done in that Japanese "kawaii" (cute) style that only they seem to be able to perfect.
Now I am still a metal head and would rather go deaf than ever listen to anything pop-related from the UK or the US but this is completely different.
This is the group's 4th album (I will be reviewing the previous 3 as well) and I think it's the best since their 2012 release, 'My Generation' which was the last album to feature the vocal talents of Suzuka.
My two favourite songs from the album are 'Ganbare' and 'I. J. I.'.
They are such uplifting, inspirational songs that even a metal head like me can't help be enchanted by.
The only thing that may dissuade some of you is the language barrier. Aside from the odd word and phrase here and there, the songs are sung in Japanese. As you'd expect from a Japanese music group. However, if you watch the music videos for some of the songs, (Ganbare, Jump Up - Chiisana Yuki,) they really tell the story of the song without you actually being able to interpret the lyrics. There are translation videos on YouTube and explanations on the Internet but they really aren't necessary for you to enjoy the music.
The girls range in age from about 16 down to 11 and they are all carefully picked by Amuse (the talent agency that owns the group) for their vocal and their dancing skills.
Their live shows from the footage I've seen around the web, are incredible and whilst they're not widely known outside of their native Japan, their shows sell out really fast at home. On inspection, it isn't difficult to see why.
If someone would have told me six months ago, that I'd be listening to J-Pop as much as I'm listening to metal, I would have probably laughed in their face.
How wrongi would have been!
No matter what genre of music you favour, you need Sakura Gakuin in your life and there is no better starting point than this, their most recent album.

They are wonderful to listen to. This disk was expensive, but I am very glad to have it. Updating - One reason for the price is the included DVD. The version I got has the music video of "Jump Up"; which is a spectacular concatenation of performance segments edited together to produce the video. This has the really clever segue into a Pachelbel's Canon styled passage, which this group of girls sang very beautifully. Again, I am very glad to have this package of CD and DVD. I would give 6 stars, but couldn't see how to do that.

This album was quite good but still not better than the one before it (in my opinion). But never the less the songs on this album were really good (my favorite song was Gambare). It really showed the true vocals these girls could do. It's really worth every penny.
