今ignited-イグナイテッド-が絶好調の西川さん。今年の３月に出したばっかり
なのにまたリリースです。このalbumにはweb of night,ignitedも
収録されるそうです。７枚目のseventh heaven 同様に新曲が多いことを期待しています！！
ちなみに、このアルバムのタイトルのvertical infinityは直訳すると
「垂直無限」８枚目のアルバムだということを考えると・・・分かりますよね？？　　縦にした∞です。
西川さんの歌唱力はもちろんのこと、遊び心も隠されたアルバム。
買って絶対損はしません！！！

西川さん曰く「問題作」だそうですが、これは確かに今までのTMRのイメージを一新する作品です。収録曲の音楽ジャンルを見てもメタル、ファンク、R＆B、トランスと取り揃えていて「この人は一体何がしたいんだろう」状態(笑)。しかし過去の楽曲を彷彿とさせる曲もあり、何といってもジャンルの壁を越える西川さんの声があるので決してまとまりが無い訳ではありません。私も最初警戒しながら聴いていたのですが、慣れてくるとすごく良いアルバムだと思うようになりました。普段TMRを聴かない人の反応も見てみたいです。

個人的には好きな曲とどうでも良い曲の二つに分かれます。ＢＥＩＮＧ　ＩＴ　ＯＮには、私はついていけませんでした。ＵＬＴＩＭＥＴＥは歌詞が好きですが…
初聞き、で曲としていいと思ったのは（シングルを除く）ＴＯ・ＲＩ・ＫＯ、チェィスの二曲。どちらも整った美しい浅倉サウンドでした。特に虜は、声が格好良く、ノリもイイです。チェィスはライブで聞くほどはまる曲。ＣＤとして聞くには、長すぎてだれ気味でした
あとは、聞けば聞くほど味の出てくるバラード３曲。ＴＭＲは歌詞に入れ込めませんが、他の２曲はジンと来るモノが。特に「緋の砂」は西川の切なくやりきれない歌詞が。「白い闇」は井上氏の深い意味を持つ歌詞が。

ここからは、ドコまでついていけるかでしょう。西川の声のかっこよさはいつまでも変わらないわけですから。
だから変化するサウンドについていけるかどうかだろうと思う。
歌い方の特有のクセも、好き嫌いが分かれて、どこまでついていけるかのカギになるでしょうね

その点を考えて、☆４つ

…私は、あのクセに聞き惚れすぎて、もう歌いクセの無い歌手はつまらなくて聞けなくなってしまってますが、ね…（笑）
