ゴンザレス鈴木のソロ・ユニットのアルバム。アン・サリーやnoon、畠山美由紀といった注目のヴォーカリストや、日本のジャズ・シーンの実力派などが参加した心地よいスロー・ジャズが聴ける。

アン・サリーの諸作をプロデュースすることで、近年、その名をさらに高めているゴンザレス鈴木のソロ・プロジェクト、2年ぶりの新作。ジャズやブラジルものの名曲からコステロ作品にいたる多彩な楽曲を、一定の質感、たとえるなら手作り家具のたたずまいをもつ音楽にまとめあげている。すなわち、温もりが心地よく、存在感があり、味わい深い。曲ごとにフィーチャーするシンガーや奏者を替え、小編成でレコーディングしているが、見事なのは適材適所の起用がマジカルな効果を生んでいることだ。スティーヴィー・ワンダーの(1)は高田漣のスティール・ギターが全体のサウンドに浮遊感とオーガニックな雰囲気をもたらし、noonの声のみずみずしさを際立たせている。アン・サリーが歌い、ギターの笹子重治が参加したジョビンの(8)は豊かな情感の発露が素晴らしい。原朋直のミュート・トランペットがイヴァン・リンス作の美メロを奏でる(7)は、フェンダー・ローズの音色の魅力も存分に楽しめる。 (浅羽晃) --- 2004年07月号

Ribbon In The Skyが好きで、いろんな人が歌っているのを探していた時にこのCDを見つけました。この1曲のために買ったのですが、アルバム1枚聞いてみるとどれもいい感じでした。

CDショップのJAZZコーナーの視聴マシンに立てかけてあったこのCD。
ジャケットが綺麗でなんとなく聞いてみた。
そこから流れてきたのは切なく優しいスロージャズ。
傷ついた僕の心を優しく包んでくれる。
ジャケットを確認すると「SOUL BOSSA TRIO」！！

red.2000を聴いてからソウルボッサから遠ざかってしまっていたが、まさかこういう方向性で僕の心に響いて来るとは・・・

10代の頃、僕を熱くさせてくれたソウルボッサは、30歳を控えた僕を優しく包んでくれた。
ありがとうゴンザレス！

とくにこのアーティストを知っていて買ったのではないのですが、雑誌かなにかで見かけて買いました。とても優しい声に派手過ぎない曲。ひとりでまったりとゆったりとする時にはとても良い一枚です。買って良かった。飽きがこない、これからもずーっと聞ける良いアルバムだと思いました。
