アンディ ウォーホル　アメリカ　【1928-1987】　抽象表現とは異なり大衆社会の世俗的なわかりやすい「記号」をモチーフにポップアートの旗手となったウォーホル。大量生産・大量消費という高度資本主義の構造をアートに持ち込みながらも、同時に彼の作品からはそういった時代背景へのある種のシニカルさが感じられます。ウォーホルの一つの作品にはテーゼとアンチテーゼが混濁して示されています。有名になるにつれ自らの存在もまた、大衆社会の世俗的な「記号」となっていきながらもウォーホルは相反する要素の混濁の中にある「普遍性」に目を向けつづけました。
