90分にまとめたこの完結版は、内容をかなり省いていることは確かですが、
全く気にならなかったのが不思議なくらい、良い編集がされていました。
（他の完結版は、出来が悪いと思ったのもあります）
1979年放送なので古い感じはありますが、その古さがあたたかく、
懐かしい感じが蘇ります。
クイーン学院に一番で受かった時、マシュウは「1ダースの男の子より、
おまえ（アン）にいてもらうほうがいい」といいました。しかしその後すぐ、
マシュウは我が家を去ります。そのとき号泣してしまいました。
こんなに泣いたアニメは初めてです。
