やくざを殺して、三年ぶりに出所した村木(池部良)の足は賭場に向かった。賭けの緊張感とその後の虚脱感だけが村木に生を実感させた。その賭場で少女(加賀まりこ)と村木は出逢う。茣蓙を見つめる熱っぽい眼差しと、勝負への放胆さを持つ少女に村木は羨望と嫉妬を感じた。少女にせがまれて大規模な賭場に案内した村木だったがその部屋の隅には殺しと麻薬にだけ生きている中国帰りの葉(藤木孝)がうずくまっていた……。

噂に聞いていましたが、フィルムで見る機会がなく、
今回DVDを購入しました。

ヨコハマがヤバい街だった頃の臭いが、全面にぷんぷんと漂う映画。
生まれも育ちも違う二人が賭場で出会い、
そして互いが持つ人生への疑問と、
虚無感に惹かれていく様が描かれています。

生きることが空しい二人。
賭けることやスピードで空しさは一瞬、埋まる。
でもそれは所詮刹那のことだから、
それぞれの気持ちはやはり重ならない。
自分一人でしか解決できない。

女はもっと危ない男のほうへ。
そんな女を引き止めたいから。
男は、自分の人生を賭けてみせる。
しかし、それも空しく結局女は…。

乾いた花は、枯れないけれど、
崩れて、壊れていくんですね。

美しいが潤いのない女。
加賀まりこが絶品です。
