　国際犯罪シンジケートと闘う、国際警察の特殊チーム「ストラダ5」の活躍。
翌年から始まる東映戦隊ヒーローとは違い、彼らは変身後も顔を晒したままでした。

司令ジュピター役、宍戸錠（5人からチーフと呼ばれる司令塔。アクションも披露。変身せず）
ペガサス役、岡崎徹（後の仮面ライダーアマゾン。イケメンでスーツ姿のアマゾン刑事）
オリオン役、地井武男（後の七曲署刑事。筋骨隆々で一番強そう。髪型も当時のＡ・猪木）
ルナ役、小野進也（元・ワイルド7の飛葉。本作ではバイクの他、バギーやジープでも活躍）
アポロ役、剛達人（元・太陽学園の片桐。結局最後まで、片桐にしか見えませんでしたｗ）
アンドロメダ役、山科ゆり（ロマンポルノのアイドル。チームの紅一点で予知能力を使う）

　特撮シーンは少なく、現在の子供番組では見られない暗殺や拷問シーンもあります。
怪人怪獣は登場せず、奇抜な武器や乗り物なども控えめな、地味なヒーロー作品です。
防弾効果もない強化服とヘルメットだけで敵アジトに乗り込み、群がる悪党を退治します。
お約束のパターンが毎回あって、正義と悪に現実味を持たせた展開は「快傑ズバット」風。
そのぶん大人の鑑賞にも堪え、手慣れた作りのカーアクションと戦闘シーンが楽しめます。
特に第6話、追い詰められたペガサスとアンドロメダに愛が芽生えるシーンが印象的でした。
でも本作は13回で終わってしまう作品。5人に感情移入しかけたところで、もうお別れです。
良く出来た作品だけに、最終回を消化不良に感じてしまいました(3巻とも片面一層/24F収録)。

こどもの頃、両親の実家へ帰省しているときに２回くらい見た記憶しかないのでほぼ初見。１クールで終わってる作品だからしょーもないのかと思ってましたが、意外や意外、低予算ながらアクションとかムチャクチャ頑張ってるじゃないですか。
なんか、日活がロマンポルノ路線になってしまってアクションが撮れなくなったスタッフが、その鬱積した想いを発散させているかのようなはじけっぷりですね。

低予算、低視聴率で知られる『電撃！！ストラダ５』ですが、実はもとから１クール予定の番組として企画・放映された作品で、しかも初期段階ではアニメ作品として考えられていたという、意外な事実があったりします。実際の作品は低予算を逆手にとったような、銃撃戦とカーアクションを融合した立体的な見せ場作りを実践しており、旧日活スタッフの意地を感じ取れます。爆発の効果音も含めて、まさに『西部警察』のルーツのような作品。快作です。
