コブクロ、約8ヶ月ぶりとなる通算14作目のニューシングルは、2007年 1月8日からスタートしたフジテレビ系ドラマ『東京タワーオカンとボクと、時々、オトン』の主題歌です。コブクロがフジテレビドラマの看板枠月9の主題歌を手がけるのは今回が初めてですが、ドラマ主題歌は『ここにしか咲かない花』(日本テレビ系「瑠璃の島」)、『桜』(フジテレビ系「Ns'(ルビ:ナース) あおい」)、『君という名の翼』(テレビ朝日系「レガッタ~君といた永遠」)に続き4作連続となります。リリー・フランキー著による原作本は、母と子、父と子、友情などの普遍的なテーマをリアルに描いて話題となり2006年本屋大賞を受賞、200万部を超える大ベストセラーとなっており、昨年11月18日には大泉洋主演でフジテレビ系にて単発ドラマとして放送され、今年はオダギリジョー主演での映画化も決定、月9枠での連続ドラマも大きな話題を集めています。

5.0 out of 5 stars 心を動かされるバラードの名曲, 2007/4/18
この曲は大ヒットした某テレビドラマの主題歌であるが、母親役の名演技と曲をオーバーラップさせて、聴くたびに胸が熱くなる。
コブクロは、最近ではそれぞれの個性と主張を少し抑えて、二人でひとつの作品を仕上げる、という
歌いかたが多く、特にこの「蕾」ではそれが最大限に感じられ、結果的に多くの支持を得て大ヒットになった。
元々歌唱力には定評があった人たちだけど、売れるには優れたプロデュースが必要と言うことですね。
人気TVドラマの主題歌はそれなりにヒットするという定説はあるけれど、
詩がストーリーとマッチしていないのが殆どですが、「蕾」にはそれがあてはまらず、
そのあたりもヒットしている要因であると思う。
せつないメイジャーセブンの響きから曲が始まり、サビではフラット５を噛ませて
一拍ごとにコード進行を変えて終結していくメロディもとてもイイです。

この曲は、小渕さんのお母様に対する想いが込められていると、
小渕さんが話されていました。
何度聴いても涙があふれてしまいます。
切なくて、そして、
愛する人への永遠の祈りが感じられる、
こころに響き渡る大好きな曲です。

側にいる大切な人へのかけがえのなさを、
思い出させてくれる曲です。

小渕さんの類い希な作詞作曲センス、そして黒田さんの聴く者にいつも鳥肌を立たせるような優しくも力強い独特な声。
何度聴いても飽きさせないこの二人は他を寄せ付けない最強タッグだ!
