ビジネスの三種の神器のWORD, EXCEL, POWER POINTが揃っているのが、このStandard バージョン。
今まで、プレインストールパソコンは、POWER POINTがついていなかった(Personalが主体だった)が、POWER POINT付も売られているのは評価すべきだろう。

ただ、実際の使い勝手はすこぶる悪い。画面上部にリボンと呼ばれるアイコンが並ぶが、従来との互換性がないため、操作を一から覚え直さなければいけない。
いつものことだが、ＭＳのいう「動作スペック」とは「動作できる最低スペック」のこと。快適に使うなら、この２倍は必用。ＸＰと同時に発売されたパソコンだと、ちと苦しいだろう。

「使いにくい」「重い」「まともに動かない（という話も聞く）」の三重苦に、「パッケージ版」のこの値段はないだろう。マクロの互換性はないが、少なくともＵＩ（ユーザーインターフェース）が Office2003とそっくりの互換ソフトが1/10の価格で手に入る。
クルマでもよくある話だが、安易なフルモデルチェンジが顧客を逃がした好例。

評価できる点はグラフなどの色のセンスが良くなったことでしょうか。以前はデフォルトのデザインではセンスが悪くて見にくく、まともなデザインにするのが面倒でした。まだまだですが、やっとマイクロソフトもデザインの重要性が分かってきたのでしょうか。

一番腹立たしいのは、Excelがすぐに応答しなくなってしまうことです。また自動保存ですごく待たされたりします。10分から30分も待たされたこともありました。強制終了させることもよくあります。
数値シミュレーションに使うような比較的速いパソコンでもイライラして耐えられません。
これではちょっと仕事になりません。当分は古いバージョンを使った方が良いと思います。

それからユーザーインターフェイスがかなり変わってしまって、以前ならすぐにできたことが、どうやったらいいのかなかなか分からず、これもイライラします。
もしかすると慣れてくれば新しいユーザーインターフェイスが使い易いと感じるようになるのかもしれませんが、特別操作が単純になった訳でもなく、単に変わったというだけのように感じます。

メニューが変わって初めは戸惑いましたが、慣れれば断然こっちの方が作業早いです。
さらに綺麗なエフェクトまで使えて、１ランク上のレポート、提案書、プレゼンテーションがその他のソフト無しで作れてしまいます！

慣れるまでの時間は1週間あれば十分。
過去のメニューとの対応を示してくれるガイドラインをMSが出してくれているので問題になりません。
