   このモデルでは、スチームユニットの吹き出し口にガードが採用され、吹き出す蒸気への安全性が向上した。過電流防止装置や、空だき防止装置なども搭載されている。別売りの「リフレッシュ液」を使用することで、お部屋に爽やかな香りが広がる効果も楽しめるのは、旧モデルと同様だ。タイマーなどの機能は省かれているが、割り切って使うならばお値段もお手頃で言うことなしだ。サイズ違いの「V165C」もある。（櫻田もんがい）

電化製品に愛を持って接したい方だけにおすすめ。

塩を適量入れて蒸気量を調節する。
まさに「さじ加減」。
加湿器との対話の時間だ。

数日でタンク内に黒いカスが溜まるうえ、
カルキ臭い蒸気が出ることもあるし
ときどきタンク内がカーボン臭くなるのも謎。

1日10時間使って、3〜4日に1回は、水の総入れ替え。
そのたびに、塩の量について思いを巡らすのも、楽しいと言えば楽しい時間。

1月に1回は、分解掃除。
スクリューねじをプラスドライバーで外して
カーボン電極にこびりついた、黒いなにがしかをゴリゴリ削る。

そのたびにプラスドライバーを捜すのもまた、
手のかかる子どものようで、面倒やら嬉しいやら。

これらの作業がおっくうな方には、おすすめできません。

このタイプの加湿器は気化式に比べて暖かみがあります。
かすかに聞こえる「コポコポ」という沸騰音がなんとも心地よいのです。
その上安価、清潔、加湿速度が速いなど利点もたっぷり。
ただ一つ、買う前に注意したいのは、このタイプの加湿器は
水を蒸発させるので、残ったミネラル分がどうしても
機械内部やタンクにこびりつきます。手入れを怠ると
それが水に浮きまくって大変なことになるのでご注意を。

乾燥する冬期に暖房を使うと室内はカラカラに。加湿器が欠かせない時期だが、自室では薬用のど飴で有名なVicksのスチーム式加湿器を使っている。加湿器には主に気化式、超音波式、スチーム式の3タイプがあるが、それぞれが一長一短ある。室内の湿度に応じて加湿する気化式は衛生面にも優れているが少々大型で価格も高い。超音波式は扱い安く価格も手頃だが、室温を下げ、内部にカビや菌が発生して場合、それも一緒に放出するのでマメな手入れが必要。スチーム式は手入れも簡単で加熱するので衛生的で室温も下げないが、消費電力が超高い。因みにV105Cの消費電力は310Wとパソコン並だ。夜短い時間しか使わないのでV105Cを使ってるが、長時間使うなら他の方式を撰ぶだろう。V105Cは蒸気口近くに入れるミントのリフレッシュ液の香も一緒に飛ばすのでとても心地よい。お休み時に使うと良いが、スイッチのON、OFFはコンセントの抜き差ししかなく、タイマーなどもないので少々不便。しかし価格が安いので仕方がないか。デザインもお洒落だと思う。
