前作「ハミン・トゥ・マイセルフ」で華やかな都会的ジャズ・ヴォーカルを聞かせてくれたのに対し、リンダは２年ぶりの本作では一転してアメリカン・ルーツ／トラディショナルまたはそれを志向した曲に取り組み、新しいことに挑戦する意欲を示してくれる。まずはその心意気を評価したい。リンダが組んだzozo sistersなるコンビの相手方アン・サヴォイはＣＤ添付の資料によるとケイジャン音楽を得意とする人らしいが、かといって本作がディープな南部サウンドで占められている訳ではない。全１６曲のうち、第１、１０、１４、１６曲が短いインストゥルメンタル。それ以外の曲でリンダがリード・ヴォーカルでアンがハーモニーをつけている曲が約半分、残りの曲ではリンダとアンの役割が逆になっている。２人の声はよく似ており、曲によって印象が大きく変ることはない。多くの曲がアコギ、フィドル、バンジョー等をバックにしているが、陽気なカントリー風の演奏ではなく、どの曲も落ち着いた渋い味わいである。広い時代範囲から選曲しており、二人が好きなフォーク・ソングを伸び伸びと歌っている姿に好感を覚える。本作でもリンダの声は健在。前作とは違って地味目の仕上がりだが、落ち着いた気分でリンダの歌を楽しむのには好適な作品である。本作が「新たなる旅立ち」になるのか、リンダによくある寄り道で終わるのかは不明だが、たとえ後者であっても本作の価値が下がることはないだろう。昔からのファンとしては、ポップス路線への復帰を最も望むところではあるが、本作のリンダも魅力的である。

オリジナルのジャケットを「地味だ」と判断してこんなジャケットに差し替えたレコード会社のセンスは最低です。音楽を売る資格無し。
