私は、AMAZON.U.Kで購入しました。

ヨーロッパもリージョンコードは日本と同じ２なので、問題なく再生できました。

画像がとても美しく、内容はたいへん満足いくものです。素晴らしい作品です。世界共通の文化遺産にしてもよいと思います。さすがＢＢＣです。

ところが、日本で売られているＤＶＤ−ＢＯＸは、３セット合計で現在33,428円もします。

私は、AMAZON.U.Kで5枚のＤＶＤセットを送料込みで17.56ポンド（約2,400円）で購入しました。日本版は約14倍の価格です。

円高の影響とはいうものの、あまりにも日本版は価格が高すぎます。

英語は不得手という方もいらっしゃると思いますが、画像だけを見ているだけでも十分堪能できます。その美しさに酔いしれることができます。

商品も注文から１週間程度で到着しました。明日すぐに見たいという方や日本語のナレーションが絶対に必要な方でもない限り、日本版を購入する理由は見当たりません。

　このＤＶＤだけではなく、プラネット・アースシリーズ全てに対する簡潔なレビューとして投稿いたしました。星４つにしていますが、詳細は「映像は星５つでは足りないほど素晴らしい、しかし構成・キャストが・・」というところです。
　映像は５年もの時間と手間をかけただけあって、息を飲む見事さというほかなく、制作関係者の方々のご苦労が伺えます。だからこそ、番組の構成は簡潔明瞭であって良かったと思います。地球の姿をあれほど素晴らしく紹介するからこそ凝ったのかもしれませんが、緒形拳さんは出てこなくてよかったと思いました。また上田早苗アナは、こういった特別番組の語り手には向かない。世界トップクラスの映像に強く魅かれながらも、緒形さんの出演と上田アナのナレーションが視覚聴覚ともになじまず、惜しくも私は途中で見るのをやめてしまいました。第１級の映像を、多くの人々に伝えることの難しさを感じさせられます。
