「住宅提案」に着目し、施主とのコミュニケーションを支えるソフト。施主の要望をすばやく取り込み、イメージ共有を図るための提案資料を短時間で作成することができる。今バージョンでは、「多彩なプレゼンテーション」をテーマに、3Dならではの多種多様なパースの見せ方や、大胆かつ速やかな提案を可能にするさまざまな機能拡張と改良が行われている。新たに、照明パーツに光源の自動設定機能が付属。これまでは照明パーツを配置したのち、さらに光源を作成して配置するという手間が発生していたのに対し、今回のバージョンでは照明器具のパーツに光源が組み込まれているので、部屋にドラッグ&ドロップするだけで自動的に光源が配置され、照明の陰影を活かしたリアルなイメージがこれまで以上に手早く作成できるようになった。また、煩雑な建具配置の手間を解消する「建具自動配置」「照明器具自動配置」が搭載され、4種類のスタイルの中から選択するだけで、自動的に建具を一括配置することができる。照明器具も和室、洋室、廊下などの情報から最適な照明器具を自動配置できるので、作業時間の短縮を実現。さらに、表現力も向上し、作成途中画面の高画質化を実現したほか、外壁素材を貼り分けることができ、外壁の2分割表示や幕板をつけるなど、さまざまな外観の表現が簡単にできるようになった。また、使い勝手の面では、完成した住宅パースを好きな位置でカットし、断面を見ることができる「断面生成機能」や、商品情報がひと目で分かる「詳細ウィンドウ」、登録された複数の視点を一度にまとめてレンダリング指示ができる「連続レンダリング機能」を搭載したほか、色やテクスチャなどを取り除いたホワイトモデルの作成が可能になり、モックアップのように建築物本来の形状を確認することができるようになった。住宅デザインソフト「3Dマイホームデザイナー2006」とデータ互換。

最初にマイホームデザイナーを買いました。
しかし、断面図の出力がなく困っていた所この商品を知りました。
学生の私にとってこの価格はすぐに出せる値段ではありませんが、
費用対効果という面からも決して高くはないと思います。
理由は、特に表現力の向上と、プレゼンを意識したソフトとなってます。
ＣＡＤなどはある程度知識が必要ですが、
このソフトは付属の説明書だけでそれなりの建物が作れますので
建築の初心者の方にもお勧めですが、
収録データの実用性、多様性の面で学生の方から
プロの建築士の方まで幅広く使えると思います。
ただやはりＣＡＤと比べると若干の見劣りもします。
