全体に、いかにもお気楽なオムニバス盤っぽいアートワーク、とりわけジャケット・イラストではあるが（これはこれで《味》だと言えなくもないけど）、まぎれもなくこれは、あの伝説の―先ごろ新たに“ビクター編”が発売になった―和ものコンピレーション『ソフトロック・ドライヴィン』のコロムビア編「愛のひととき」（96年９月発売）のリイシューである。ヒデとロザンナの「白い波」から、マチャアキの「田舎の教会で」（故・高橋ひろ氏が絶賛していた。確かに「走るよー」の部分の開放感には素晴らしいものがある）までの全25曲・75分間。その場を極上の音空間に変えてしまう、エクセレントでエレガントな世界が展開。筒美京平氏（８曲収録）、村井邦彦氏（５曲収録）をはじめとする職人たちの仕事ぶりにも、思わずほれぼれ。すべてが名曲、というわけではないが、トータルでは実に素晴らしく（ここがポイント）、二度三度と聴けば聴くほどとりこになってしまう。これはそんな、大傑作コンピレーション。心の底から自信をもっておすすめしたい。なお、ブックレットには歌詞がないが、土龍団による実に詳細な特濃ライナーが掲載されている（それもオリジナル盤のものをそのまま載せるのではなく、加筆した形で！）。
