ほかのI've系を買うのに精一杯で、これまで、とりこぼしてしまっていた１枚ですが…。
ゴメン、まさかこんなに素晴らしかったとは…。IVE系でも最も好きな１枚かも。

えこ先生の唄は相変わらずいやみなほど上手い。でもこのアルバムは曲がこれまた最高。IVEサウンドに乗るとえこ先生の声もいやおうなく光り輝く。特にイントロからスカラベ、バニラ、スパイラルウインド辺りは完璧。
楽曲だけではなく、サウンドデザインの結晶という感じがする。爽やかでスカッとしながらも深く、柔らかで、癒される。ときに草原を吹き抜ける春風のように涼しげで、ときにヴェルベットにくるまれて眠るように柔らかく暖かい。

以前から、飛び抜けた歌唱力をことさら鼓舞するでもなく暑苦しい自己主張をするでもなく、まるで自分の声を楽器のように扱うヒトだなぁと思っていましたが、それがこのアルバムでは特に効果を挙げているように思います。押しつけがましくない、楽音との一体感が曲の魅力をひときわ、際立てています。
位置づけからしてJPOPの一線に躍り出てくることなんて無いのでしょうが、それがむしょうに悔しい。日本のポップスの中でも、燦然と光り輝く大傑作に思うのに…。

島みやえい子(”島宮えい子”から改名)のI'veとしてのファーストアルバムです。本人が作詞作曲したオリジナル曲をI've制作陣によってアレンジされた内容になっています。収録曲には今までに出したアルバム(hologram，VANILLA，Ozone)と同じ曲が有りますが、アレンジ担当が違うので聞き比べるのも良いかと。個人的にはスカラベがお気に入りです。あと、初回版は通常版より１曲多いので出来れば初回版の方を聞いて欲しいです。

コミケット限定販売の「Ozone」以来のえい子さんのアルバムです~
タイトル曲｢ULYSSES｣は1曲目の｢Introduction｣と
合わせて聞くとより一掃楽しめますよ♪
個人的におすすめは｢Mosquito｣｢宇宙の花｣｢LOVER｣あたりですかね…
｢LOVER｣はじっくり聴いていると何故か涙が出てきます…

えい子さん入門編には最適の一枚ですよ~
