『Smile』から約1年半ぶりのリリースとなる8thアルバム。シングル「光の川」をリード・トラックに、ヒットシングル「秘密」、「クライマックス」を収録。

   胸をえぐるような言葉や具体的なエロにとってかわり、前作『SMILE』あたりから、さまざまな世代の主人公のやんごとなき閉塞感や、不安、こびりついてしまった情景などを描くようになったスガシカオ。その物語性をリアルにしたのは、このアルバムで見られるサウンド自体のキャラクタライズへの、いい意味での固執だ。

   相手を人として受け入れられなくなり、別れの予感を女性言葉で歌う冒頭の「サナギ」では、粘着質なようでいて乾いたサウンドが響き、限られた時間の中で誰も知らない秘密を共有しはじめた2人の覚悟をうかがわせる「アーケード」では、初めてといっていいUKロック的な静謐なサウンドが響く。全体としてはスガらしいオルタナティヴ・ファンクが根底にあるのだが、今回はジャンルにこだわらず曲ごとの世界に浸りたい。（石角友香）

まったく聴く気がはじめは無かったTIME。
スガさん本人の「濃いよ」という宣伝文句に食指が動かなかったのだ。
私は前作の"Thank you"みたいな路線が苦手なんだけど、そんな凡人の私にとっては、スガさんが指す「濃い」と言う意味が「Thank youみたいな路線だよ」っていう風に思えたから。

でも違っていました。

あくまでもスマート
あくまでもソウルフル
あくまでも毒づいてる

スガワールドがいい意味で全開なアルバムだと思う。都会的、といえばそうだと言うしかない。
最近のCM曲にもなっているJuneだけがなんだか異色な感がしなくもないけど、全体的な空気感は、ジャケットから見て取れるとおり、夜明けまえ4時すぎ、といった感じか。

まあ　つまりは、前よりも好きだということ。
スガさんのアルバムはいつも前作よりいいのが凄い。

全体的に大人っぽい感じですね。
オススメは風なぎかな~。アコースティックなかんじがいいです。
ちなみにスガシカオさんの曲で私が一番好きなのは、「月とナイフ」です。ちょっと古いかな。参考にはならないでしょうが・・・。
