このゲーム、中毒になります。
つまり魅力的なんです。日本人のためのRPG、日本の持つミステリアスさ、悲壮感、お祭り的雰囲気、怖さ、優美さなど、日本に興味や魅力を存分に味わえるのでは。神やアイテムにまつわるネーミングも興味深く、敦賀は福井にあるんだ〜とかゲームをやめても日常まで入り込んでくるという。
しかしマスダさんという方は凄いですな。「リンダキューブアゲイン」もやりましたが、この方のオリジナリティというか、作品から醸し出される匂い、雰囲気を肌身でビシバシ感じます。根底にエロス、生々しさ、生と死を感じてならないのです。人間の本能、動物性のような。このゲームをやっている間は「あぁ、人間として生きている」と感じます。アメリカナイズされた今の日本を見直したい。
あと個性的な神様が沢山いて、面白いです。音楽もすてき。「花」!

京の都を荒らしまわっていた化け物の親玉「朱点童子」を討伐に向かった夫婦が討ち死にする所から物語は始まります。子孫による復讐を案じた朱点童子は生まれたばかりの夫婦の子供に呪いをかけます。一つは短命の呪い。もう一つは種絶の呪い。
これによって寿命は２年、人と交わって子孫を残す事すらできなくなってしまった赤ん坊。可哀想ですね、これがあなたです。
あなたは初代当主となって、男ならば女性の神と、女ならば男性の神と交わって子孫を残し、戦い続けて一族にかけられた呪いを解かなければなりません。もちろん神と交わって出来た子供も同じ呪いを持って生まれてきます。どんなに頑張ってもたった１、２年の寿命ですから次々と死んでいきます。ひたすら戦って奉納点を稼ぎ、神と交わって子孫を残し、志半ばで死んでいく…これを多世代に渡って続けていくしかありません。
シナリオやキャラクターにどっぷり浸かりたいという方には本当に不向きな作品ですが、これでしか味わえない面白味や感動は必ずあります。

もう何年も前のゲームですが、いまだに時々取り出してはやってます。
ネットで検索しても、今だに活動してるＨＰが散見されることから、これは私だけではないようです。

なぜこれほど長く遊べるかと言えば「自分だけの一族の物語を体感できる」これに尽きるでしょう。

このゲームのキャラクターたちは、限られた寿命の中で子を生み鍛え、そして、子孫に希望を託して死んで行きます。
ゲーム上、彼らは何も語りません（一部除く）。しかし、それゆえに、いろいろと想像してしまうのです。
決められた物語を追うのではなく、自分だけの物語を作る原動力がそこにあります。

既存のＲＰＧに飽きた方は、やってみることをお勧めします。
数少ない、自分だけの物語を生み出すゲームです。
