新年一番最初に何を聴こうかというのは、今年を占うようで、結構吟味してしまう性質なのですが、今年はこれを選びました。ピコこと樋口康雄と、米ソフトロック界の才女アニタ･カーが共同で制作した日本語で、本気でソフトロックをやってる名盤です。コーラス･歌はNHKの人気番組だった「ステージ101」で活躍したグループ、ヤング101です。英語でやってる曲もあるのですが、やっぱり日本語でやってる歌が実に素晴らしく、ソフトロックの名曲に日本の叙情がプラスされていて、ここにしかない特別の空気感を生み出しています。日本語であることで、普段ソフトロックを聴いているときに感じない歌詞の一節一節をしっかり噛み締めて、今年一年、このようなポジティビィティを持っていけたらと思います。

なお、このCDにはボーナストラックとして樋口氏プロデュースの作品が3曲プラスされており、特にラストを飾る「春、五月、青空」は五月と歌いながら、やけに新年に合う前向きな広がりのある名曲です。
