90年代の人気ドラマの中ではラブ・ストーリーとは異なる”友情・仲間”をテーマにしたドラマ。やや方向性は異なるもののアメリカドラマ”フレンズ”のような、今みると青臭いような展開だが、自分的にはとても好きな作品だ。学生時代に見た作品だけに、大人になった今みると、なんとなく懐かしい気持ちとともに、今、自分はどうかなーと思ったりする。内容は文句なしに★５つなんだが、今回のこの仕様のケースについてはやや不満がある。多くの作品のようにトールケースの収納boxでの発売にして欲しかった。それを加味しての★４つ

本作は、９０年代初頭の高視聴率ドラマだったが、恋愛模様以外にも社会人としての現実感溢れる悲哀を描いていた部分で単なるトレンディードラマと一線を画していた印象がある。

同時に本作は野島伸司の出世作でもある。そして彼ならではのキャスト設定の妙技も既に発揮されていた、模範的な教師としての鈴木、有能敏腕である唐沢共に大学時代も主役的立場を果たし、どちらかと言えば「良」、対して風来坊のような生活を過ごす江口、ライターという不安定な生活の石橋、上司に蹴落とされる日々の中野は、一般的に（社会的）は「悪」だったのかもしれない。しかし、その既成設定が反転する所に隠し味があった。つまり、鈴木、唐沢のような慕われる人間でも「俺は（私は）そんなに強い人間じゃない」と時折、隠していた苦渋を吐露するかと思えば、江口のような極端な話めちゃくちゃな生活を送りながらもその潔さに、爽快感や羨望感さえ感じる。そのような逆転劇がドラマ自体の微妙なスパイスになった。

ドラマ放映時は年少だったため、主立った部分のみが心に残った、時を経て今再度見て感じるのが、やはり上記の現実的悲哀を巧く描いていたと感じる。自己が描く、自己の教師像に反し無干渉な生徒達のギャップに戸惑う鈴木、同様に理想的政治家を目指すもその世界の腐敗に苦悩する唐沢、組織嫌いで自由気ままに生きるも警察沙汰になる江口、上司に虐げられそのはけ口をホステスに求めた中野。。。ケースバイケースにせよ、自身が本作の実年齢に達した時、上記のようなリアリティーを伴ったストーリーに驚きと共感を得る。それは、既にレビューされている通り、自分自身が年齢を重ね冷静に客観的に自分と比較してこのドラマを見れるようになったのかもしれない。それが新たにこのドラマに対しての違う側面を見せているのかもしれない。

　Dr. コトーに抜かれるまでは、木曜フジのドラマ視聴率No.1 だった作品。友情を
暖め合った大学時代を終え、厳しい社会に入った若者たちのその後が描かれている。
困難を乗り越えるにはやはり、友情が必要だったという話。
　確かに青臭いと言う人が多いように、恥ずかしげもなく友情ドラマは展開される。
でも、それは心のどこかで、そうした友情は良いもので、それを持っていないが故
のひがみだとも思えてくる。
　主人公（鈴木保奈美）が「私はみんなが言うように強くない。本当は一人じゃ寂
しいの」と吐露したとき、仲間が現れ「俺たちがいるじゃないか」というような展
開に憧れているのかなと。
　現実、仲間のピンチには夜中でも何でも、必ず現れる仲間なんかいないかもしれ
ない。家族だってそうでない人たちも多いかも。そんな時にこれを見ると非現実的
な関係！と上辺では言っているが、心の中でうらやましく思う自分がいた。
　何度でも見てしまうのは、寂しいからなのかな？
