クロノトリガー、クロノクロス、ゼノギアス、などで有名な光田康典氏がＰＣゲーム「THE　SEVENTH　SEAL（第７封印）」で担当した１０曲を集めたアルバム。暖かく、哀愁にあふれ、そしてどこか悲しげ。異質な空気が漂う光田氏の音楽は聞く者を不思議な世界へいざなう。

このアルバムを聞いた時まず思ったのは、クオリティーの高さです。生楽器による演奏というのもあるでしょうが、メロディーラインがとても洗練されていて、また曲自体の醸し出す雰囲気がロマンチックで、この音楽の創りだした世界にどっぷり浸かってしまう。テンポのよい曲、ゆったりした曲、ともにバランスよくはいっており、クロノクロスの進化系といえそうです。

ミニアルバムということで３６分ぐらいですが、密度のこい素晴らしいアルバムだと思います。買って損なし！

発売されていないゲームのサントラということで、買うかどうか迷いましたが、買ってよかった。と、心から思える作品でした。いろいろな曲調のサウンドが入っていますが、すべて、タイトルの航海の意味を彷彿とさせるコンセプトにまとまっていてとても聞きやすい。ゲームの内容は，解からなくても音楽が物語りを語っているかのようです。すんなりと気持ちに溶け込み、世界観を築く光田サウンドは、このＣＤでも健在です。
ゼノギアスやクロノ・クロスで光田さんの音楽に魅了された方には、是非、聞いていただきたいＣＤです。このＣＤで光田さんの素晴らしさを再確認しました。

5.0 out of 5 stars CD名の通りの壮大な曲の数々です, 2005/3/8
｢Sailing to the World｣は｢世界に航海する｣という意味。
それにふさわしい曲の数々がこのCDに入っています。
皆さんと同様になってしまいますが、
おすすめは二曲目の｢Sailing to the World｣です。
気持ちが明るくなれるような、その雰囲気が大好きです。
光田康典さんの出されているCDの中では
全10曲という少な目の曲数ですが、それを忘れさせる
とても内容が濃くすばらしい作品なので、是非聞いてみてください。
