宮崎駿コレクションと銘打つが、その中身の作曲者はいずれも音の巨匠達、細野晴臣、久石譲、ユーミン、加藤登紀子、木村弓と超豪華陣。その名曲たちをリラクゼーションミュージックを幅広く手がける広橋真紀子がアレンジしピアノで聞かせてくれます。Church Reverb の効果は大きく、目を閉じて曲に集中すると、自然の中にたたずむ教会から音楽が聞こえるようなイメージが、そして時より、やさしく鍵盤に触れるようなイメージが脳裏を駆け巡ります。癒し効果は大きいと思いますよ。

エンヤのサウンドは曲を何度も重ね撮りして響きを持たせることにより独特なヒーリング効果を生んでいる。そのため１曲のレコーディングには数ヶ月を要するようだ。

それと似たように本アルバムには独特な響きがある。

ニューカレドニア諸島のウベア島にあるサンジョセフ教会の聖堂の中でのピアノ演奏を生録したのが本アルバムだ。

「リラクシング・ピアノ」と銘打っているが、1曲目の「千と千尋の神隠し（いつも何度でも）」を車の運転中に大音量で聴いていたら軽いトランス状態をおぼえた。

宮崎アニメはファンが多いので主題歌を集めたり、オルゴールにしたりするオムニバスアルバムが多いが、それらとは一線を画している。

ピアノ演奏に合わせた編曲も素晴らしい。
因みに編曲と演奏を行っているは長年にわたり数多くのヒーリング・ミュージックを発表してきた作曲家広橋真紀子。

ヒーリングミュージックの第一人者、聖堂、ピアノと久石サウンドの見事な融合をみることができる。

ジャケットもシンプルながら絵の枠の部分に凹凸を持たせるなど凝った作りだ。
長靴猫を連想させるような猫のイラストも可愛い。
宮崎氏がまだ無名な頃に、彼のアイディアを爆発させたのが東宝マンガ映画「長靴をはいた猫」だ。宮崎氏の原点ともいえる長靴猫が表紙で「ようこそ！」といったようなポーズをとっているのは微笑ましい。

これだけの内容で1600円とは非常に安く感じる。
宮崎ファンならずとも、癒しを求めている人へは強くお薦めできる１枚。
