島谷ひとみさんが演歌からポップスに転向してからリリースされた「解放区」から最新の「YUME日和」までのベストアルバムです。
あの大ヒットしたカヴァー曲｢亜麻色の髪の乙女」、ジャネット・ジャクソンのカヴァー曲「パピヨン~papillon~」、竹内まりやさんのカヴァー曲「元気を出して」なども収録されています。

島谷ひとみさんといえばカヴァー曲で有名ですが、オリジナル曲もなかなかいいですよ。
個人的には「Perseus-ペルセウス-」が好きです。

初のベストアルバム。ポップス転向後の『解放区』からリリース順に収録されていて、『島谷ひとみ』の歴史を振り返る、今まで『島谷ひとみ』を聴いたことがナイ人には入門として、もってこいのアルバムに仕上がっていると思う。
ただ、従来のファンにとっては少し物足りなさがあるかもしれない。

シングル以外の選曲に、もうヒトヒネリ欲しかった。本人・スタッフが良いと思っている曲と、ファンが良いと思ってる曲は、案外違うものだ。あまりにも選曲が無難すぎるように感じられた。
他の方も言われていたが、『カバー』のイメージを吹き飛ばすような、そんな選曲が欲しかった。

なんとなく買ってしまったこのアルバム。
正直に言ってあまり期待していませんでしたが、見事に期待を（良い意味で）裏切ってくれました。
カヴァー曲しかヒットしていないような気がしますが、オリジナルの曲も結構、というかかなり良いです！
9曲目のA.S.A.P. - as soon as possible -は聴いてると元気が湧きますし、逆に10曲目のPoinsettiaはとても切なくなります。

他にもいろいろありますが、実際に聞いてみないと良さはわかりません。
だから、買って聴いてみてください、結構はまりますよ。

ちなみに星がひとつないのは、ベスト版なんだからもっとブックレットを豪華にしてほしかったからです。
