自分がアイヌの血を引いていることを、大人になってから知ったある男性は、その後の人生をアイヌ人として生きていくことを選んだ。それほどに血、遺伝子というものは濃いものなのかと感じた。

日本人のルーツは、アンデス人のルーツと同じだと言う。確かに、顔の造作は似通っているし、アンデス人の奏でる音楽は、耳に懐かしく響く。

まるで並んだアルファベットを読みあげるかのように、一個人のDNAの配列を読み解くところまで、科学が進歩していることにも驚いた。人類最初の祖先にまで、科学は辿り着くことができるだろうか
