ノラ・ジョーンズの過去の作品だと思って軽く聞いてみてびっくり。
こんなにも実力派だとは思わなかった。
個性的なシンガーだと思っていたが、そうではなく歌唱力たっぷりに歌い上げるジョーンズの新しい面を発見出来た。

シンガーソングライターではなくシンガーとしてのノラ・ジョーンズに出会える１枚。

ファンには勿論、万人向けで聞きやすいポップ、ジャズ、カントリーの融合体だ。
ＢＧＭとして流すのには打ってつけな楽曲が揃っている。

ノラ・ジョーンズがブルー・ノートとの契約前の2000年にピーター・マリックのバンドにゲスト・ヴォーカルで参加し、録音された作品です。ボブ・ディランのカヴァーが収録され、なかなか興味深い内容です。ファンは必聴かと思います。

FEATURING Norah Jonesとなっているとおり、ノラのボーカルを前面に押し出した仕上がりになっています。
同時購入した「THE LITTLE WHILLIES」もヴォーカルとしてノラが参加していますが、コチラは1stの色に近いようです。
リーダー作だけでなく、こうしたアルバムを聴くことができるのも、ノラのタレントのおかげです。
でも、オリジナルが聴きたいと思うのはワタシだけでしょうか？？
