映画館で観ました。確かあまり人はいなかったように思います。しかし、この映画は凄い。何が凄い？それは口に出してはいえない凄さなのです。あえて言うのなら“間”でしょうか、全てが素晴らしいタイミングで描かれていると思います。しかしずいぶん前に見た記憶なので、美化されている部分もあるかと思います。ですから、皆さんの意見も聞きたく、書いてみました。ＤＶＤ早く欲しい！！！！

5.0 out of 5 stars 高度に計算されたフレームを持つ映画, 2007/11/14
シネフィルを自認するほど映画を見ているわけでもないので完全なオレ基準だが、
近年の邦画では周防正行監督の『shall we ダンス？』、細田守監督の『時をかける少女』、
そして万田邦敏監督の本作を、“高度に計算されたフレームを持つ映画”として褒め称えたい。

これらの作品は必要以上に細かいカット割りや（今日的な）移動ショットとは無縁であり、
フィックスの画（固定カメラ）が多い。画的な変化の少ないフィックスは、見る側に考える
時間を与えることになり、そのことから気付かされたのが高度に計算されたフレームだ。

映画のフレーム（枠）によって切り取られた画面には、構図、アングル、動き、被写体のサイズや
その配置、また被写体の移動方向等々によって観客に与える印象をコントロールする手法が
知られている　（これらの手法は映画技術や演出に関する本を読めば色々知ることができよう）。
その手法の的確さがこれほどまでに感じられる作品はめったにお目にかかれないと思う。

3.0 out of 5 stars 重厚な台詞に馴染めるならば, 2005/12/27
この映画は監督の演出の妙が光っているし評価できると思う。また台詞が重厚な重苦しいドラマ仕立てなので、スピードが要求されている現代の映画手法から考えると・・・正直評価は「？」になってしまう。ただ、心情を吐露する台詞が凄く「重い」ので、じっくり映画を観たい人にはお勧めである。そして映像美も及第点だ！しかし、わたしの評価が低いのは、脚本・演出が台詞を偏重するあまり、画に動きが極端に少なくなってしまったことに対する抵抗感だ（その反面として性描写が妙に動きがあって生々しくはなった）その点をどう評価するかだが・・・わたしはラストシーンの重苦しさも加味して星３つ・・・ちょっと厳しいかな？って、ところだ！
