さすが、長時間ドラマ。キメ細やかなストーリー展開が出来ています。こちらのドラマを見た後で中井貴一主演の映画を観ましたので、（それなりに良かったのですが）映画版がとても物足りなく感じられました。
このTVドラマは、それ迄｢10時間も時代劇見る人の気が知れない！｣と豪語していた私の横っ面をひっぱたいて？目を覚まさせてくれた金字塔的作品です。
泣き所も満載ですし、主役の渡辺謙は言うに及ばず、回りの俳優陣もとても素晴らしかったです。内藤剛志も良い味出していましたし、何と言っても土方役の伊原剛志は、クールで近寄り難い恐さを秘めていて、私のイメージする土方その物でした。
時代劇があまり好きで無いと言う人にも、ぜひ観てもらいたい作品です。
注）見始めると途中で止められなくなりますし、涙･涙で目が腫れちゃうと思いますので、翌日予定が入っていない時に観るのをお薦め致します。

毎年恒例のＴＶ東京系正月時代劇！！中でも３本の指に入るほどの傑作だと思う。
渡辺謙のすばらしい演技。他にもさまざまな俳優さんがいい味出してます。
そして、何よりストーリーが抜群にいい！！
何度見ても泣ける感動作です。買って損はありません。
現在公開されている映画版より、こちらの方がお薦め！！

原作を読み、１０時間ドラマが放映されたことは知っていた。ただ、放映区域外だったので、見ていなかった。ＤＶＤが発売されても、「結構高いし、失敗したらなあ」と思っていたが、ついに勇気を出して購入した。正直、これほど感動を与えてくれる時代劇、いや、ドラマは見たことがない。一緒に見ていた母も、「これは過去最高だ。」と絶賛。今の日本に失われつつある熱いものが満ちあふれている。「家族愛」「友情」なんて言葉は、この前には安っぽく感じる。
役者さん、いずれも素晴らしい熱演だが、特に主役の渡辺謙さん、内藤剛志さんには泣かされ続けた。是非買ってみてください。
