既発アルバム｢The Gate of Dreams｣｢into the light｣｢ONLY HEAVEN KNOWS｣からのセレクションを中心としたベスト盤的内容。
｢Piano Sketch｣というタイトル、そしてジャケデザインから連想すると「ピアノソロアルバムかな」という印象を受けますが、ピアノソロだけではなく、アコーディオンやアイリッシュハープがリードをとる曲もあって、内容は濃いものになっています。
全体的には静かで繊細な曲がメインですから、いわゆるヒーリングアルバムということになるのでしょうが、そこが個人的には難しいところです。梁邦彦の魅力は、壮大なオーケストレイションやドラマティックな展開にもあると思いますので、シンプルな構成の曲を並べられると、やっぱり少々物足りなく感じてしまいます。
でも逆に言うと、梁邦彦の作品の中で、ヒーリングミュージックとして軽く流しながら聞くことができるのはこのアルバムだけ、ともいえますから、初めて聴く方にも安心して勧められる１枚といえます。
M-02｢Swan Yard｣の旋律に、そしてM-12｢Too Far Away｣のオーケストレイションに胸が震えた方は、ぜひ他のアルバムも聴いてみてください。

最後の一曲、『Ｔｏｏ　Ｆａｒ　Ａｗａｙ』のみのために購入したといっても過言ではない・・・。

日本ではＫＮＴＶでしか放映されていませんが、『宮廷女官チャングムの誓い』のファンがそのあと必ず見るといわれる『ホジュン』と『商道ーサンド』。
この『商道』のＣＤは韓国でも廃盤になっているんですが、実は、あの壮大なオープニングテーマソングはこの『Ｔｏｏ　Ｆａｒ　Ａｗａｙ』なんです！！
それも、サントラ盤にも収録されていない幻の曲！！ＯＳＴを血まなこで探してらっしゃる方にすごくお知らせしたい！！
音源もいいし、すっごく壮大。

『十二国記』のサントラ１枚より、コレ１曲のほうが価値がありますよ！！

ピアノのの持つピュアな部分を改めて知るCDです。
超絶技巧な旋律ではなく、おそらくピアノを習ったことのある人なら誰でも弾けそうな平易な旋律を展開しています。だからこそ、疲れた心にすうっと入り込み「今日も一日おつかれさん」と優しく撫でられている心地になるのでしょう。タイトル通り、スケッチなわけです。
晴れの日というよりは、雨の日に映えます。ドビュッシーでの「雨だれ(？)」ではないですが、08「月の雫」は雨音が感じられるような雨だれ拍子で始まり、窓辺で雨足をみる少女という映像が思い浮かびます。
ちなみに02,「Swan Yard」はよくテレビの天気予報のBGMに使われています。どこまでも透き通るピアノの音がとても爽やかです。
年配の方とこのCDを聴いていたとき、その方が「唱歌みたいな曲だね」とおっしゃいました。そしてメロディラインを覚えて口ずさんでいらっしゃいました。12,「Too Far Away」では、「船出をしているようだね」ともおっしゃっておいででした。
静かに瞑想したい人、落着きたい人、そして明日へと進む人に聴いていただきたいです。
