全シリーズ中、登場ロボット、登場ミッション、ともに格段に増えている
しかしあいかわらずグラフィックはいまいちであまり進歩いていないように思える。ミッションも60以上あり、最後までいくのにはかなり根気が必要。
今までのシリーズをプレイしたことのある方は分かるとおもいますが

このシリーズは難易度がかなり高い。味方の数が10とすると敵は20以上いる
精神ポイントというものがありこれを使うとHPを回復したりできる
これをうまく使わない限りクリアは不可能だ
よって初めてこのシリーズを行う方は比較的難易度の低いスーパーロボット大戦EXを推薦します。それでもファンにはたまらない作品だとおもいます

熟練度を上げれば上げるほど不利になっていくのは勘弁して欲しい（物質的に）。その熟練度を上げること自体かなりめんどくさいというのに。。。例えば特定の機体を集中的にパワーアップさせないと『HP５０％以下で退却』などという敵にはてんで歯がたたない。シュミレーションにコンテニューはつきものだがこうもやり直ししなければならないと来るとやる気を無くす。それでもクリアはしたがハッキリいってシナリオは長いだけ。報われない。

今作はかなり変わった作品で最初から結構敵が固く、味方はリアル系ですら結構相手の攻撃がよく当り難易度は高いです。

ステージ数も１００数話あり、果てしなく長いがよくよく考えると元々ワンダースワンかなんかで発売された物のリメイクということで、３作品分を一つにまとめて１本にしているので総合的に見るとそんなに多くは無い・・・でも長いけどｗ
今作にも熟練度システムがあり、これが最終話までにある程度獲得していないと隠しステージに行くことが出来ず、図鑑コンプを目指してる方はぶっちゃけ攻略本もセットで買うことをお勧めします。

グラはＰＳのアルファの使いまわしですが、戦闘アニメは迫力のあるモーションに書き換えられてる機体も多い、また今作からの作品はかなりどれも力が入ってます（ダンガイオーやナデシコｅｔｃ）　話数もかなり多いけどそれに見合うだけの隠しキャラや機体も多く師匠などまさに魅力的な隠しキャラの一人です。
据え置き版スパロボはアルファからＺまで遊んでいますが正直ここまで隠し要素が多いスパロボは今作以外まだ出ていないと思います（先にも書いてますが携帯版は除きますよ；）

気になった点としては、これだけ長く進めるゲームなのに簡易戦闘でのテンポがすごく悪い！
ＰＳ版のアルファ並に早くしてくれればいいのに、一々攻撃した相手の駒がゆっくり左右に動いてダメージ喰らった、そこからＨＰがゆっくり減っていく・・・
これにオーラバリアだのデストーションフィールドなどのバリアがあるとそれの演出もまったり入り、さらにテンポが崩れます。
さらにエステバリス系はナデシコからの電力供給範囲を超えるとエネルギーが減るのですが、減る時の演出もまたうっとおしい；；

時間のある方でスパロボをじっくり遊びたい方に良いかもしれません。
