さてこの巻の見所です。
　フォウ・ムラサメ編がいったん決着。カミーユの成長がこれを境に伸び始めます。
　不幸の帝王ジェリド・メサの復活。マウァーをパートナーに颯爽とシロッコ配下で登場すも、早くもパイロット(サラと同僚のシドレー、彼女は強化人間!? ニュータイプ!?)一人を戦死さす。
　そしてこの「Z」の真の敵シロッコが本格始動。徐々に素顔を現し始めます。
　さらにヘンケン艦長のエマ・シーン、アタック作戦始まる。部下に笑われても、エマに当惑されても、がんばれヘンケン!
　それにしても次巻でカミーユの台詞にもあるのですが、この戦場、やけに女性ばっかり。プラス子供ばっかり。カミーユでなくても異常と思いますよねえ。

第６巻では、フォウとの戦いに一段落がつき、カミーユが宇宙に帰る。フォウのカミーユに対する思いには胸を打たれたが、彼女は次に再登場したとき、カミーユのことをきれいに忘れてしまっている。彼女を見ていると、ロザミア同様、強化人間に背負いこまされた絶望というものがよく判る。今更ながら、本当に悲惨な作品だ。

「人の善意を無視する奴は一生苦しむぞ、カミーユ！」・・・、アムロがまともなことを言っている。普通に驚いてしまったが、とてもいい台詞である。アムロがいったからこそ重みがあり、感慨深いものがある。フォウの心の声に最初に反応したのがカミーユではなく、彼女のことを全く知らなかったアムロであった。アムロのニュータイプ能力が優れているという事だけではなく、周囲の人間に対して気を使うほど大人になったのだと思いたいところである。作品に登場するキャラクター達は、傷つきながらも１歩１歩成長していく。アムロも、自身と同じ能力と苦悩を背負ったカミーユと行動を共にすることで、精神的に成長しつつあることは間違いない。「１ｓｔ」からアムロを見ている人達は、「立派になったもんだ」と思うような言動だった。ちょっと感動できた。

ジェリドとマウアーの久々の登場や、Zガンダムの完成など、宇宙に戻ったことで物語が進展していく。パプティマス・シロッコが活動を開始し、その本性を徐々に見せつつあるので、彼のファンにはそこそこ楽しめる1本になっている。

　群像劇としての『Zガンダム』。このホンコン篇まではカミーユは「主役」であって「主役」ではなかった。群像劇の中の一人として描かれ、特にアムロ再登場後は、カミーユは完全に「脇役」のひょっと一言多い「いっちょ噛み」と化し、シャアとアムロのドラマの引き立て役に回っていた。シャアの退場後はこれではいけない、とカミーユを本格的に「主役」に据え、フォウとのラブストーリーを繰り広げた。このホンコン篇で初めてカミーユに感情移入できるようになった人も多いのでは？

　舞台は宇宙に戻り、カミーユを本格的に「主役」に据えるのだが……。群像劇としての『Z』が好きだった。「主役」を「主役」としてステレオタイプに描かない、そういう『Z』が好きだった。その試みは成功していたように見えた。それで一本通して欲しかった。そんな物語があってもよかった。後半はカミーユを「主役」に据えることによって、物語の歯車が微妙に狂い、焦点が狭まり、視野狭窄、袋小路に落ちていく。そんな『Z』は好きになれなかった。スタッフのモチヴェーションも徐々に落ちていく。その過程を見るのが切ない……しかし、その「悔い」は、映画版『Zガンダム』で晴らしてくれるだろう。「ニュータイプと信じたいものですね」。
