　さてこの巻の見所です。
ビダン家の崩壊・・。これにつきます。しかし暗い話だなあ・・。さらに終盤、ついにアムロ・レイ登場。しかし軟禁状態で骨抜きされていた・・・。やはり暗い話だなあ・・・。
　面白い画としては、この巻のパッケージにもなっているシャア・アズナブルがなんとガンダムマーク２を駆る。なんという運命の組み合わせ。とんでもなく貴重な画だと思いますよ私は。

　第6話『地球圏へ』でアムロが「Z」に初登場する。製作者側も気合が入ったのだろう。作画監督にエース・北爪宏幸を起用。美しい作画でアムロが甦る。一応の主人公・カミーユもMS戦に急遽参戦、ジェリドのハイザックを撃退し、カプセルで地球に降りるレコアさんを助ける。シャアがガンダムMK-IIに初めて搭乗する興味深いシーンもあるが、何よりも、ラストシーンが美しい。アーガマの僚艦モンブランが撃沈され、その破片が流星となって、アムロのいる地球に降り注ぐ。再び始まる戦乱を予兆するかのように……。

第２巻では、３~６話が収録されている。あまりにもヘヴィーな内容に、まだＤＶＤが２枚目であるにもかかわらず、少し憂鬱になってしまう。あまりの重苦しさに、カミーユの精神が早くも破綻するのではないかと不安になるほどである。事実、破綻しかかっているが・・・。『Ｚガンダム』の持つ重苦しさは、戦争という愚行だけでなく、戦争を行なうにいたった時代背景、そしてその時代を築いた人々までしっかりと描いているからこそ生まれてくるのだろう。

６話では、アムロが初登場を果たす。カミーユ、クワトロ、そしてアムロ。それぞれが作品の主人公であり、それぞれにドラマがある。敵・味方関係なく、脇を固めるキャラクター達にも同様にドラマがある。時代をより良い方向に導くため、大切な人を守るため、あるいは己の野心のため、様々な理由によって彼等は命を懸けて戦う。だが、誰も幸せにはならない。『Ｚガンダム』を観ていると、戦争がもたらすものは不幸そのものでしかないことが良く判る。

ちなみに、ガンダムシリーズの中で最も不幸な男・ジェリドは左遷され、周囲から馬鹿にされており、早くもその能力を発揮しつつある。逆ギレするその姿は、まさに負け犬という言葉が相応しい。彼は仲間との出会いと別れを繰り返し、少しずつ成長していくのだが、成長した分だけ不幸になっていく。

私は『Ｚガンダム』こそガンダムシリーズの最高傑作だと信じているので、ガンダムに興味のある方全てに観ていただきたい。でも、涙も出ないほど不幸な話なので、ドス黒い話が苦手な方は観ないほうがいいだろう・・・。
