このビデオはいくつかの意味で極めて貴重な映像である。

プロデューサーによれば、故村下孝蔵のライブはほとんど撮影されていないからである。その点でこのビデオは彼のライブの一端を感じることができるほぼ唯一の記録である。それだけではない。故村下孝蔵の音楽のルーツがベンチャーズのギターや加山雄三の歌に合ったことはマニアの間では有名であるが、その一部を見ることができるからである。前者についていえば、彼のギターテクニックは業界でも有名で、とても一人でしかもギターを弾いているとは思えないようなサウンドを出すことができるのであるが、このビデオにはそのプレイがほんの少しだけ収められている。後者では、加山雄三の歌に影響されて中学1年生のときに始めて作曲した「夜空のアンジァラ｣を聞くことができるだろう。もちろん、「ゆうこ」、「初恋」、「踊り子｣などどこかで一度は耳にしたヒット曲も収められている。

近年の、音楽ビデオはその制作を前提にコンサートを組み立てているかのように映像表現にも音源にも最高のものが用意されているが、このビデオは決してそうではない。バンドは、キーボード、パーカッション、サイドのギター、コーラスといったきわめてシンプルなものである。映像も、カメラがせいぜい5台ぐらいで、トランジションもこっているわけではない。何よりも、彼自身がお世辞にもフォトジェニックではない。曲目も11曲（うち3曲はメドレーで1コーラスのみ）でわずか40分足らずの作品である。

しかし、それであってもこのビデオにはアコースティックギターを使った叙情あふれる「歌」を聞かせてくれる価値がある。おそらく、営業の視点から見ても近年のミリオンセラーミュージシャンのビデオとは違って、大規模なものを期待することはできないだろう。それであってもあえて、作品として市販されたプロデューサーと音楽出版社に敬意を表したい。彼が惜しまれて急逝したからではなく、派手な演出のビデオに少し飽きた人は、聞いて、泣け。
