   少年院から帰ってきた番長、水原が滝沢にリンチを加え、追放しようとする第4話『開かれた戦端』。妻が娘を連れて実家に帰ると言いだしやけ酒をあおる滝沢が、非行少年たちの孤独を感じる第5話『最後の闘魂』。滝沢と乱闘するなかで水原が心を開き、退学することなく無事卒業していくまでを描く第6話『涙の卒業式』。第2巻では、この3話が収録されている。（田中 元）

　ここでは、番長の水原が滝沢先生と殴り合い、酒を交わし、立ち直って行く
シーンがありますが、ホント、最高に感動です。一度テレビでも見たけど、
何度見ても、最高ですよ。

水原が本当にコワモテでひねくれていて、すごみがあって、近寄りがたいワルですが、スナックの階段から突き落とされても、河原でナイフを出されても、真っ向勝負の滝沢先生が大変魅力的です。
愛に飢えている水原が滝沢に心を開いていき、「俺よお、俺よお・・・」とすべてを言葉に出来ず泣きそうに言う台詞は、感無量です。

ストーリー、キャスティング（マネージャーは微妙、、）、テーマ曲、すべてが良かったと思う。今見てみても、決して古臭くない。ただ、チーム・メイト達の個性が、森田と大木を除いてあまり上手く描かれてない点が残念。ストーリーの中核を占める大木ばかりが目立って、ほかに誰がいたのかよくわからなかった。なんにしても、大傑作であるのは間違いない。キャスト達の演技にも目を見張るものがある。和田アキコも、この作品を見て演技力の高さに驚かされた。梅宮辰夫さんの迫力もかっこよかった。
